  • Wish me luck!

I have decided to start Atkins today. I have tried it before with great success. But once I lost the weight I would always go back to my "normal" way of eating. So I am starting today with the promise to myself that I will accept this as a way of life. I will keep everybody posted on a weekly basis. Starting weight 246lbs Goal Weight 200.

    Welcome!

Hopefully you'll see Atkins as "normal" eating!

      Welcome and good luck!

This is my second time doing Atkins. The first time, I did what you described. This time, I am taking the time to learn how to do it right and make it a way of life. I am much happier this way.
Look forward to hearing your updates. While I haven't taken the time to do it (keep wanting to), there is a great section for journaling your progress if you are interested.

We have 2 different types of journal here on ADBB, both with their own forum

Here are links to the forums as well as a brief description of their purpose so you can decide where to start yours. You can have one in each forum if you want.

          Journal Chats

Want to keep a journal/diary to chat with your other Atkineers? Keep your journal here.
Share with others your story day by day and visit/be visited by other Journal Chatters to get to know each other and encourage others along the Atkins way.

Want to keep a journal/diary of your weight loss and challenges to lose weight? This is your place to create your journal.
These journals are less chatty and more targeted to your WOL as an Atkineer. Only the original poster and a moderator can respond in these journals.

Welcome aboard! First time, years ago, I lasted the 2 week induction & felt like I couldn't go any farther. I was sacrificing too much. This time, it's like everything snapped right into place. I'm enjoying the foods I'm eating, I'm rarely missing the old foods. And I feel soooooo good!!! Yeah, I don't think I'll ever go back to the carby life, I'm enjoying the healthier life!!!

Like others have expressed here I also lost weight on Atkins, went back to my old way of eating and regained it all plus more. Now I know that I simply cannot afford to make empty carbs part of my lifestyle in any way shape or form. Welcome to the boards. There is much support here.
