Re: weight gain on induction
So you've gained 5 lbs overnight? Unless you ate A LOT of food, then it's likely water retention.
How does your menu look like? If you post a complete one, with quantities and net carbs for all foods, we can take a look.

Re: weight gain on induction
Hi,
How much water are you drinking and did you start drinking from Day #1?
Are you exercising?
Weight can fluctuate up and down everyday by several pounds
You just started, your weight loss will take time and will balance out.
Weighing every day will give you false ups and downs. You should only weigh yourself once a week, if not longer. It's not about how much weight you may lose every day. It's how you feel, how you look, and not a certain Weight loss by a certain date. If you follow properly the weight WILL come off. But it is a long term process of eating and exercise. Your weight should almost be secondary if you get what I mean. It's a combination of things, and should be looked at as a WOE, not a quick fix. I guess I mean look at your weight loss as a long term goal, not a day by day number.259/206/149

Re: weight gain on induction
My menu has been primarily steak, chicken, eggs, and tuna. I drink about 60-70 ounces of water a day. I have exercised twice since the start of induction once on the treadmill for 45 minutes and the other time about an hour of weight lifting. Yesterday I did some walking which consisted of maybe a mile and a half through a hilly area. Could it be that I have gained some muscle or that I havent really had any carbs whatsoever be the cause of the gain? I understand it may just be a water gain and I hope that is correct.

You don't have the book, do you? This one you need is Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002).Originally posted by shaoliano View PostMy menu has been primarily steak, chicken, eggs, and tuna.
Also read through the Induction FAQs: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tion-faqs.html
And what Christie said about veggies.
The minimum is 64 oz... and it might not be enough for you. Many people do best drinking more than that.I drink about 60-70 ounces of water a day.
You don't gain pounds of muscle mass after exercising twice.Could it be that I have gained some muscle
Could be...that I havent really had any carbs whatsoever be the cause of the gain?

Sugar free Citrucel is full of (what I would call) junk. If you need extra fiber, flax meal or psyllium husks would be better options.Originally posted by mommyseemommydo View PostAre fiber drinks allowed? like citrucell?"Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: weight gain on induction
Log every single thing that you eat and drink, even a little bite of this or that, and post it. The folks here are experts at finding problem areas.
I know once I made a habit of logging it all and typed it into FitDay I was amazed at how many carbs I was really eating... way more than my induction 20 a day I can tell you that! LOL My problem areas included way too much coffee and sodas... not nearly enough water... not nearly enough vegetables (the majority of the carbs need to come from vegetables)... way too much cheese at one carb an ounce... way too much processed meats, again with about a carb an ounce... hadn't been counting the carbs in eggs...
Counting the carbs I was eating and then to see the number of calories I was consuming heck yeah I was going to gain weight! LOL Anyhow, try punching it into FitDay and let us know how it goes. xoxo
