Last night was my 1st Christmas party on this new WOE. My husband & I have been on Adkins four weeks today. I wasn't worried at all about staying on plan because I feel so committed to this way of eating. What I wasn't prepared for, though, was how I felt not having something to drink (alcohol) ! I'm not a big drinker at all, and hubby and I have a rather dull social life, but I used to occasionally have a drink - my favorites being champagne or espresso vodka on rocks. Not on a regular basis, but usually at family gatherings, parties that kind of thing. The food at the cocktail party all looked and smelled delicious, but that didn't even bother me that I couldn't eat 95% of the foods. I made sure to take something we could eat (shrimp), not knowing what else safe would be available to eat.
The not eating part was no problem....the not having a drink, wasn't so easy, but I trudged through.

I stayed on plan ! It felt kind of crappy last night, but today I am so glad I didn't stray.

    Great job!!

Now, keep that up throughout the holidays and you'll be rewarded while everyone else is complaining about having to go back to induction in January!! You surely don't want to be one of these or one of these or one of these or them when you weigh in right after New Year's!!!

Congrats on the self restraint! The training will continue!

            Way to go!!

It can be hard, but it can be done! I had a holiday party at work on Friday, and I stayed 100% on plan. It's such a feeling of accomplishment, no?
