  • Morning Treat

So I ran out to Walmart this morning at 7am while the rest of my family slept for some Christmas shopping (BTW it's empty at 7am even 2 wks before Christmas!) Anyway, on the way home I drove thru Mc Donalds and got an Egg Mc Muffin brought it home and threw out the muffin and the imitation cheese, and put my own real cheese on it and put it on a revolution roll and it was SOOOOOO good. Felt like a cheat, but wasn't.

Why didn't you just make your own egg then?

I bet your eggs at home don't have:

USDA Grade A eggs, soy lecithin (release agent). Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono-and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color)

    in them!

      Re: Morning Treat

DMat, I zip through McDonald's for quick on-the-road breakfasts as well. When I do I order a side of eggs with cheese and a side of sausage or a side of bacon and munch on it as I do my morning before first bell routine. Mornings are rushed at my house, and I don't do this every day. I never go when I have more time simply because I don't want the chemicals in my regular diet.

Atkinsgal is correct that their eggs have added ingredients. The folded eggs come frozen and are reheated. The scrambled eggs come in liquid form and are poured on the grill to scramble. Here are the ingredients from the McDonald's website:

      Scrambled Eggs (2):
Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium acid pyrophosphate, citric acid and monosodium phosphate (added to preserve color), nisin (preservative). Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono-and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color).
      CONTAINS: EGG ANDY SOY LECITHIN.

LOL, That just made my morning! The only good thing about McDonald's is their coffee, if they just sold that they would be okey dokey!!

Ok so this morning I was running late and thought about going you-know-where. Skipped it. Had peanut butter out of my minifridge instead. LOL Thank you for the reminder that if it's not good for me when I have time, it's not good for me when I'm in a hurry.

Have you tried making your own? Dead easy - just put some salted peanuts into a grinder (I use an old coffee grinder) add oil and sweetener to taste and there you are!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
