What steps are you taking this year to deal with holiday grazing, eating, drinking, exercising whether home, partying, with family or in restaurants?
First, I never wanted to be that person who came back two months after the holiday and kicking myself because I gained too much weight so I'm cautious, even on maintenance.
Have a "go to plan". Are you going out, unexpectedly with friends are family? Are there no good choices for you? Know your plan. Don't be afraid to ask questions of waitstaff.
While routines get disrupted, remember to exercise and not give it up for the holidays. Yep ... I whine, too. My trainer can attest to that. But, when I work out, truth is, I have more energy and I feel better. And I never want to be one of those returnees to the gym for New Years!!!
Don't get caught in the drink and binge spiral. Snacks, illegal or otherwise, always look better after a few drinks. It is a slippery slope and if you are seriously committed to your health and weight goals, be able to judge when you aren't planted firmly. Stay healthy and stay safe.
When going to someone's home where you don't feel you have control over what you are going to be served, eat beforehand and stick with salad or legal foods.
What is the point of this? This isn't my first rodeo. I miss old friends from this board who never returned after tumbling down the slippery slope. If you do tumble, come back to the board before the slope gets steeper than you can handle. But remember, you have a choice.
And return to the board often during the holiday. Surrounded by supporters is important to all of us whether newbies or oldies or in between. You may not need support today, but it is likely that someone else needs to hear what you have to say. To this day, I love reading the encouragement from all of you. I need that to be successful in my goals.
Have safe holidays. Have healthy holidays.
And special thanks to Tom, the administrators, mods and all those who make this place what it is!

I just lost enough to wear the size 6 pants and one pair will have to stretch a little to fit right. Okay, so maybe I will plan to skip the stupid cookies.
