  • Weighing your food…

I finally broke down and bought myself a kitchen scale. And oh my I should have done this a long time ago. The bad news for me is that I have now added to the problem of eating enough food.

IE: my broccoli, what I thought was 1 cup (88 g), weighed 75g. My spinach should have weighed 30g, weighed 24g. So now I need to eat more ! I can’t be the only one that is under-measuring their food.

    A scale is a wondrous thing…….

This is from the ADBB site, for ex: it shows what 1 cup of something actually weighs on a scale. This has been very helpful for me for food items that are difficult to measure. That's why as you ladies said, you were undereating. I printed it out and put it in plastic covers along with my fav recipes in my Atkins binder.

        Re: Weighing your food…

I was going to add to the "You know you are on Atkins when..." thread but I asked for a food scale for christmas! I am looking forward to not having to add estimated amounts to my fitday.

          Re: Weighing your food…

I use a postal scale. I go in and out using the scale. Every couple of weeks I weigh things just to see if my 'guestimate' is correct.

I like to go by weight, I think it's more accurate.
