  • induction question

hi everyone, I am now on day 17 of induction. I lost a total of 10 pounds, to be fair I was sick from the surgery for 3 of those days and did not eat much. I am still on induction because the first couple of days I was drinking half and half until I realized I could not. Plus the day the Dr. made me drink the juice.lol. I received in the mail a huge box of homemade xmas baked goods from a family member. Then a family friend brought me my favorite box of chocolates with a fruit basket and I can have none of it ,SSSSooooooooo I broke down and ate a atkins bar I must say it was awesome..... but to get through this time ........I keep thinking of the health benefits ahead and the fact that I went from 247 to 192 but it is a daily fight, I am glad I can share all of this with you. The next coming weeks will be hard. For my next step if I read the book correctly I can only increase my carb intake by 5 and these 5 must be by increasing veggys? Thanks for any advice. By the way when I lost my weight the first time I stayed on induction and did not go to owl, which is probaly why I stopped losing. and got tired of induction. plus I felt I should give my body a chance to adjust to the initial weight loss. Now I am back to where I was when I ended a year ago. I was able to maintain that weight loss for 10 months and only recently in the past 2 months did I gain the 10 pounds back so I am glad it came off so quickly but now I want to continue on. Cindy ,

Why do you keep them? Re-gift them... or donate them to a shelter.

I can have none of it
Well... technically, you can. But you can also choose not to eat them.

You will start OWL by adding 5 net carbs of vegetables. In the next weeks, you can add more carbs and other foods, while following the Rules of OWL.

Why are you saying this will be hard?

I know this will be of little consolation, but after 2,181 days of doing Atkins, I still think about chocolate.

However, I no longer "crave" it ... because I said "Good-bye" to it 2,180 days ago, when I realized that it really wasn't my friend.

Having an Atkins bar might be feeding your cravings, too.

Yes, I am afraid of that happening, I will have to monitor my weight loss closely, I am finding I am not wanting to eat all 20 carbs a day...cindy

            You need to, regardless.

            It's nutritionally sound.
