It's a common occurance year round, but especially this time of year, that we see new members who introduce themselves saying "I plan to start on XX/XX date", or "next Monday", or "after I get the book".
I usually give the advice that rather then wait they should start ASAP. I figure the sooner you make the decision to start the better. I guess I feel that it's more empowering making the decision to start NOW then to start at some future point and that sooner you start taking charge of your eating and your life, the sooner you will feel healthy again.
On the other hand....
It's also common all year round to see people who jump into the diet with both feet and make mistakes that may be hurting their weight loss. If not caught those types of mistakes can lead to frustration and eventually to dropping Atkins altogether.
I guess I'm wondering what other people feel is the best advice to give. If the person is waiting to start so that they can have one last carb fest, or something like that, then I have no doubts. Other then that do you think it is more helpful to encourage someone to start immediately or to first read the book/forums to learn all they can before they start?
