For those of you that have and use Fitday PC, would you recommend it, and why? What makes it better than the online version?

    Thanks for any feedback

    Re: Fitday PC

It allows you to have a "net carbs" column.

It allows you to save "meals".

It has other "bells and whistles" ... but I am comparing the PC version to the "old" on-line version.

    Yes, it's worth it, imho.

I'm not sure the Premium service is.

Having a net carb column would be nice!! I wish Fitday had a fiber column at least..

But doesn't the regular online one let us save meals?
      Or maybe just foods..?
      Hmmm...

        >>I wish Fitday had a fiber column at least..>>

The information for fiber is there ... just not as easily seen on a food by food basis.

        >>oesn't the regular online one let us save meals?>>

        Not sure.

The PC version lets you save "breakfast" ... and it knows that it's 2 eggs, etc.

I don't use the new on-line version regularly enough now to have figured out if it does a "meal" with multiple items.

The online version doesn't allow this. You can enter a recipe/meal if you know its nutritional info, but you don't see the ingredients/individual foods.

            Re: Fitday PC

I like the PC version for saving recipes that are automatically calculated... it calculates longterm weight-loss projections... it's easier to navigate and post/read/assess information. I have the PC version, but use the online version from work then transfer the information later. Thinking about the premium version but will probably not do that after all.

I don't miss the pop up ads...I was so frustrated trying to put my food choices in and having to try to get out from under the ads...if I wanted to use a diet plan, diet pill or diet drink I'd go buy them....

It's also nice that i can keep track of things when I'm not home or have access to the internet (yes there are still places that don't have access or where you don't feel like signing on just to add your food.

I think it was well worth the money.

I like the way you can add a whole recipe as a custom food by dragging the ingredients into the relevant box. It makes it so simple.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I'll let you guys know, absolutely.

But for starters, when I went through the Fitday site, and followed the buy it links, the price was $29.95, and then I googled Fitday discount, and got a $19.95 price link.

But I bought it, and I'm working through the program.

                            Re: Fitday PC

I bought the FitDay PC version a couple years ago when I first started dieting. It was the only recommended tracker I knew of at the time. I bought the PC version as I was paranoid that all my stuff might disappear with the online version. From what I've read by users of the online version after all this time, that is not a problem.

I do like the PC version better as it gives you more options and flexibility. The online version is useful for those who do tracking both at work and at home. Now there is a sync service (for a monthly fee) that allows you to use both. I just use FitDay at home so the PC version works well for me.

Features I like: easy to enter and save recipes, fiber and net carb columns in the food log, endless custom foods, easy to copy and paste foods from one day to another. That's all I can think of right now.

OK... in less than 24 hrs, the verdict is....

I think the PC version is Worth It !
...not having to log on every time you want to enter something
...custom food log columns (ie: Carb-Fiber)

Now I am still exploring, and this may sound petty, but not having to log in each and every time is worth it by itself. It is a learning curve, and I'm trying to figure a couple of things out still.

I'm not thrilled with the Body Log for measurements, it was obviously designed for men (IMHO) and needs a couple of added measurements for women. And on the food log, even though I can change the columns (which I love), I can't figure out how to change the pie chart %, if it is possible at all.

For $20, go for it !!!
