hey there bernie!!
Bernie and I are both students in France. And what a place France is to begin on this 'diet revolution'. Carbs seem to just stare you in the face here. But never-the-less we are determined to succeed in the face of anti-atkins!! so here begins our journey. A new chapter in more ways than one. you go girl! lets go Team Atkins. we can do it!

I didn't have any cakes to throw out when I started, but I had a HUGE shopping bag full of dry pasta that I gave to my niece and her room-mates (little skinny 20 year olds!!)
And then five months later I trashed the four Advantage bars I had bought thinking I'd be needing them. Goodbye sugar demon!!! :wave
It's very liberating and empowering to toss or give away stuff you know you don't need anymore.
A hint though...if you have to throw out something like cookies or cake, etc, throw it in the garbage can and then drizzle dish soap over it, so that you don't hear it calling you!!!

right guys... went supermarket shopping today for atkins friendly stuff but unfortunately the french arent as geared up as the rest of the western world in putting info on products. but anyway, one good thing did come out of the trip.. given that we dont have any scales here to weigh ourselves on, we found some in the shop and so now i know my start weight..62kgs. now i just have to keep going back there to weigh myself! yeah! oh, another good thing, whilst in the electrical department, marie bought some curling tongs. yey!

Welcome, both of you!
Well, for me it took several months before I finally got rid of my pasta and other dry foods from kitchen closets. I had always felt it's a good thing to have "food supplies" - it took time to break this...female/33/5'
