  • Blood sugar measuring

After a Christmas break, started yesterday with a recovering induction time.
i never read anything about measuring blood sugar, in which case is it necessary to measure it?
in the past months, i frequently had hypoglycemia symptoms, specially when i work long or "forget to eat".. i get really agitated, my hands are shaky, i sweat cold..
even though i do not have diabetes, i was thinking to monitor my sugar levels for a while, does anyone of you do this regularly?

    thanks!

    Valina,

It sounds like you might by hypoglycemic. The symptoms you describe are similar to a diabetic having a low blood sugar attack. I've been on insulin for 18 years, so I have experienced that all too often.

You should go to a doctor as soon as possible. Monitoring your blood sugar will probably be important, but not before you are checked out by your doctor.

    Good luck!

If you continue to do as you've always done, you will continue to get what you've always got.

I agree with Rick...I am a type 2 diabetic and when I was first diagnosed checked my blood sugar 3 times a day -- as the number started getting lower (thanks to Atkins and medication) I took them twice a day and now I take them once or twice a week - unless I feel I need to check them more often.

Have your doctor check you out.
