  • Hello, it's me again

That is the way I feel...I just finished watchng the season premier of the Biggest Loser season 9 and I and still at the same weight I was when I started watching ther Biggest Loser season 8... Of it course I got off track with doing Atkins and even though I found it very easy to do when I was on the plan, I am finding it very difficult to get started again...I think part of the frustration is that even though I followed the plan before I did not lose a lot of weight, it may be because I did not move up the rung to OWL. That was in part because since I was not losing any weight in the induction phase that I was worried about not losing any in the OWL phase so I stayed in the induction phase until I became frustrated and just stopped. Now it is six months later and I am still where I started at.... Of course I always try to keep a positive attitude and am always willing to keep trying I figure at some point I have to get it right. My slogan last year was Fine as Wine in 2009, this year it is we are trying it again in 2010. I see I have missed signing up for the challenges for January, and there is no Biggest Loser season 9 challenge which I was hoping to sign up for, so I guess I will do my own season 9 challenge, I already have my starting weight and with some discipline and lots of exercise and water, I will be lighter 6 months from now when the season ends...I'll keep you posted as to how well I do and by the way if anyone wants to host the biggest loser challenge I am in.

Hi Pretty Lady & Welcome back to
I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss and with all the other goals that you may have!
If you didn't lose any weight in Induction, I believe they have what is called a Fat Fast (I think, I'm not an expert, lol) that helps "boost" the weight loss. BUT that is only if you are metabolically resistant (the test is in your book) and it should be done under supervision of your doctor!
    Good Luck to you!!

Why exactly? Is it difficult to stick to Atkins or is there another problem?

I did not lose a lot of weight
I guess "a lot" means "as much as you expected", right?

Setting weight loss expectations usually leads to disappointment. Then you start doubting about the diet... and, unfortunately, you know the rest.

And not losing "a lot of weight" does not mean you are not successful on Atkins.

I see I have missed signing up for the challenges for January
You can still sign up for the challenges.

        Re: Hello, it's me again

Welcome back! I lost 35 pounds since Jan 5, 2009 - the day I started. Many people want to tell me how sorry they are for me that I've "only lost 35 pounds"....personally I'm thrilled....not everyone looses quickly I'm not on Atkins as a "diet" I'm on Atkins for my health, which is much better than last year.

Get back on plan - 2 weeks of induction then move on to OWL -- you need time to learn the foods that you can eat and the ones that you need to watch closely.

If you don't put a number and a date on your journey you'll be much happier. Good luck this time.

          Re: Hello, it's me again

Thanks Carole...I remember reading that you were a diabetic also, I lose 10 pound from June til Aug before I had my surgery and then after my surgery it seemed as if everything fall apart... I was on bed rest for a two weeks and then I couldn't workout or cook for myself for another two weeks and then ... I don't know what happened. I was frustrated with the slow weight loss, especially since I was really trying to follow the plan. I am a diabetic as well and have tried a lot of things to lose weight and to keep my sugar under control, I did have better control of my blood sugars while on Atkins but the weight just seem to be taking a long time to come off and I became discouraged and didn't start back on Atkins when I was able to.
But I am putting away the excuses, because one thing is for sure, my health is better when I follow the plan.

Exactly! Weight loss is only one of the measures of success on Atkins.
