  • Carb free energy drink/gun okay?

Well, I have been wondering if 1 carbfree energy drink a week will mess me up.

    Will it?

Is a stick of sugar free gun okay?

During Induction, you'd have read the label to see if there are any nonlegal ingredients (like fruit extracts), and generally caffeine in all its names (guarana) is discouraged. After Induction, it is YMMV thing. If you continue to lose at the speed you want, then it's up to you. If you stall with the additional caffeine or ingredients, you have your answer. Certainly count it against your daily sweetener intake as well.

Gum is the same way. Check how's it sweetened, and if the sweetener is allowed or not discouraged (aspartame), then it should be fine. I would also count it against my daily sweetener intake though as well.

Why do you want the energy drink? And the gum?

I would take them one at a time. The two may have different sweeteners for one, and if your body has an averse reaction it'll be difficult to pinpoint the culprit. Also, your body may react to the intense amount of caffeine in the energy drink.

I can handle energy drinks once in a while, but most gums throw me right out of ketosis. It may be that I just overdo it on gum when I chew the stuff, dunno. Still I only add a new food to my menus one at a time just in case I don't respond well.

I agree with Kent - induction you reallly should do as clean as possible - and once you're in owl - maybe once in a while as long as it's not affecting your weight loss.

i personally love the sugar free rockstars -BUT i've found i need to be VERY careful with them as they're almost as addicting as diet pop (which I gave up over 3 years ago...) and I just don't like the idea of craving things like that. so i DO drink them once in a while but I've learned i've got to be very careful...
