Hi there. Some of you may remember me - I started Atkins in September and was a very enthusiastic poster for a while there. I stopped posting when I wasn't really seeing results and began to get discouraged.
I've been on Atkins for four months now and I've lost a grand total of 12.6 pounds. I'm seriously wondering if this is the slowest weight loss on Atkins in the history of the universe.
I understand how Atkins works and am on Rung 5 and eating on-plan. I had once slice of Ryvita and one bar of 80% cocoa chocolate through the whole holiday season. I have one Diet Coke every two weeks. I cook whole foods only - no shakes, diet foods, Crystal Lite, low-carb replacements, or other rubbish. I eat less than one teaspoon of Splenda per day.
It's a bit discouraging to lose this slowly, sure, but I'm starting to wonder if there is actually something wrong with me. The biggest benefit from Atkins for me has been stable blood sugar, which is nice, but I never got that famous energy boost and I'm still pretty tired most of the time. This has not been a "...and I feel better than I have in years!" experience for me.
Are there health conditions I should ask my doctor to screen for? Should I do extended induction? Re-induction? Just accept it will be slow? Any advice or thoughts very appreciated.
