Re: Can I Hear from Members with Longevity

I guess I didn't take any remarks made as a response as offensive. The thing I love about this board is the directness so color me stupid because I didn't see it.

Everyone here has a story to tell whether they have been here for a long time or returned after lapses or just take it day to day.

It takes a commitment, one that is larger than carbs that call you. Yes, it is about the food and not deviating from the way Atkins presented the plan in DANDR 2002, but more, it is key to open yourself up to learn about yourself and what your triggers are, why you step onto slippery slopes and what your goals are (weight loss, improving health indicators or event driven weight loss).

And I don't know you, I don't know your approach to life or your acceptance of information from others on a board like ADBB, but there are loads of stories of people who tell their stories here on a regular basis. Read through the board ... you will find them in the many forums here.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Great thread... Thank you for sharing what your life on Atkins is like. I'm sorry the original OP decided to leave.... Unfortunate because I truly love ADBB and have learned so much from everyone here.

        Thanks anyway,

Sorry Joyce. I do not know why that came out so weird and I really apologize if I sounded snotty or something. It was not my intention at all. Hope you can give me another chance.

And I so concur this is a great thread. It is exactly the kind of info so many of us want to hear.

I have to comment! My second time on plan and on this site... When I signed in yesterday and saw Liv still active I did a little "yes" - she is, amongst many on here that are truly inspiring, encouraging and sooooooo helpful.

The directness is tough love... its what gets us through!

          Great thread!

As you can see from my join date, I'm really old. I did this WOE and failed several times before and since I found this wonderful site full of smart, insightful people. I consider some of them friends. Nobody here gets paid to dispense wisdom and know-how, it is free share.

My failures have been due to my own weakness and I have taken responsibility for them. I now feel that my failures have been because I stayed in extended induction for too long, and am moving up the rungs on Friday. This is a great thread, thank you Joycee for starting it.

If you leave the site because someone offended you, you are giving them the power to take a wonderful tool out of your tool box. Be here for you. There are a few people on this site that make me cringe every time I read their stuff. I'm that guy for someone else, I'm sure of it. I'll hang in there until I get it right though.
