  • Freaking out!

    Hi Everyone

So I took my son to his hockey practice and hit up the concession to get my other son some popcorn. I also decided to get myself a Diet Pepsi, I don't drink pop a whole lot anymore since starting Atkins so it was a nice treat. Well this is where the freaking out part comes in! As I was sipping I realized it didn't taste like diet at all, so just to make sure I wasn't imagining things I took a few more sips. I took it back to the concession stand and the lady told me she accidentally mixed up mine with the lady who was behind me! So I drank half a cup of REGULAR SUGAR FILLED pop! TOTALLY FREAKING OUT and worried this will set me back. I have two more days of induction and now I'm wondering if I should continue and do a few days extra.

I've definately learned my lesson to NEVER get anything from the concession!

It happens. Fill up on water and flush it out.

Good, glad you are picking yourself up & moving on. I freak out whenever I drink diet soda in a cup. The first sip is always so sweet & I worry that they mixed it up.

Oopsies sometimes happen no matter how hard you try sometimes. I've had something like that happen before. Sounds like you made a good decision when you realized what you had happened. Some fountain drinks it is a little hard to tell which it is.

Drink lots of water and keep on doing the right things. If you're tracking using Fitday, make sure you track this. I found it reassuring to log everything, good and bad. It keeps me focused.

              Re: Freaking out!

I can understand the idea of freaking out here. I would have been definitely pissed off. Geez louise what if she'd given that to a diabetic??? Ok well what's done is done.

Drink water, loads of water. Just try to flush your system, chalk it up to experience. Seriously, though, sis when I taste a "diet" soda and it doesn't taste diet, I ask a friend to taste it. If I'm not sure, I switch to water. Period. I'm suspect of anything and everything when eating out. I don't want my health in the hands of a thoughtless employee.
