  • How does TOM effect your weight loss?

I have a questions for all the ladies out there. How does having your period effect your weight loss?

I am on day 11 of Induction. On day 5 I weighed myself and I was down 8 lbs. Today is day 4 of my period. I weighed myself today (wanted to see how if effected my weight) and I was up 1 lb. No biggy, I know it's because of that TOM. But I was wondering what other people experience when good ol' aunt flow visits. Does the scale not move for you, then after your period goes away you see a few lbs gone? Do you gain a few lbs, then lose it when it's gone?

Just wondering what I could possibly expect in another few days when it's gone. Thanks!!!!

Many women simply don't weigh during TOM. It's a water weight "gain" and generally goes away when TOM does.

Your body should have it's own pattern ... you'll "gain" some (who knows how much?) and then you'll lose it.

I've seen women report as much as a 10 pound weight "gain" (bounce, actually) with TOM.

Keep pushing water ... more and more water will help with water retention.

Yes..just what J already said. I have learned to just not weigh myself because it upsets me to see the numbers go up. Early on, I would gain about 2-3lbs and after all was said and done, I would be back to where I was without that gain. But since I don't weigh myself now, I am not even sure if it is the same. I feel bad enough during TOM without seeing weight gain too.

Yea, I keep upping my amount every day. Almost up to 100 oz. I'm not worried about the weight gain because I know it's water retention, just was wondering how it effected other people
