  • double-yolk eggs?

I feel like a really simple answer is probably in order here...

So, I bought extra-large/jumbo eggs at Safeway this week, and for some reason, this carton is FULL of eggs with two yolks. I've never seen this many before! And my question is...how do I count these double-yolked wonders in my Fitday? Should I just log them as two eggs, since the yolk (I *think*) is the part with the carbs?

    Thanks for any insight!

    That's what I would do!

Actually, both the yolk and the white have carbs.

The yolks have more nutrients than the white.

      Thanks! That's my plan.

My husband cracked a particularly huge one with THREE yolks yesterday, and my annoyed self yelled, "that one is YOURS!"

How would you convert a double-yolked jumbo egg? Two mediums, two jumbos? (This, I realize, may be splitting hairs...)

I would just go with "2 jumbo" eggs.

Think of the big picture ... the fractional bit of extra net carbs you're getting by undercounting the white ... it's not worth it.

          Yikes.. Poor chickens..

Actually you could just look up one egg and then search one egg yolk and add that together if you wanted.

Yeah when we had chickens that did happen. Never thought about counting carbs back then though.

I usually log one egg plus one yolk when I get a double yolker.

One egg and one yolk as Elizellen. Fit day shows for this. And, good luck!
