Hi! I'm Lisa- I have been an avid Atkins supporter for over 10 years. I lost over 100 pounds from 2001-2003. I maintained my weight of 127-135 for a long time and sabatoged myself 2 years ago when my Mom passed away. I was eating sugar and more refined carbs and gained 35 pounds back. (Not including the 10 pounds I gained during this past Christmas!!) I went back full-fledged after the Holidays and had to decide to stop my emotional eating. I'm doing Induction now- 2nd weeks in and have dropped the Holiday weight! I am 48 and 10 years ago was pre-diabetic. I vow to never be obese again! Not just for vanity reasons, but for my HEALTH! I have been fortunate to have gained a LOT of knowledge about the Atkins plan and its nay-sayers. I am so happy to find this board!

Thank you!! I'm so stoked to have found an active Atkins board!! Any way I can help out anybody, I'm here!! I "did" Atkins since the late '70s, and thru the years I would USE it to drop weight, but in 2001 I decided I had to change my life. Everybody can get off track here and there, and I certainly did. Gratefully, I did not gain back the 100 pounds, but I have to get rid of this extra 30~

Welcome to our ADBB family, Lisa

Have you a copy of the version of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) that we follow here? It is quite a bit different and more structured than the 1970's Dr Atkins Diet Revolution (DADR).
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Oh, yes! I recommend that one to everybody who is interested in Atkins. I gave my last copy to my mother-in-law!

Thank you so much. It also didn't help when my sister-in-law gave me a Krups espresso machine 2 years ago either! I think I lived on half and half/whole cream lattes w/Da Vinci for a good 6 months! EEEK! Not a good diet plan there! Lattes and very little food? Big problem.
