I have a girl's night out on the 28th of January and I am already starting to freak out...It is at an Italian restaurant and they make the most heavenly gnocchi (potato pasta - how bad is that!!!) I have actually gone on internet to consult the restaurant menu in advance and think I am going to have the garlic escargot for the appetizer and the poached atlantic salmon for the main course with veggies on the side (no rice, no pasta). I figure if I write it down here, I am committing to it and cannot turn around and give in to the evil pasta...Covering my *ss. Just had to share that...I'll be passing on the Tiramisu (I'm not a dessert girl anyways...)

Planning is the key
You are absolutely doing the right thing. That is what I do when I can and I like it that way. I go to the restaurant with so much more will power that way. And come out feeling good about things because I had a good legal meal.

Nope! The escargot is sautéed in butter and garlic and topped with cheese and broiled...I am actually salivating already!!!
The salmon is poached with a leek, shallot, spinach, cream and white wine sauce. I figure there won't be so much wine and the alcohol will surely have evaporated off from the heat...
