        From the Nintendo site:

The weight limit on Wii Fit is 330 lbs. That is high as Wii Fit will measure you. Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned it could handle weights around 600 lbs.

        Here is the source article.
Miyamoto is the designer/producer. The balance boards are designed to take a pretty heavy weight load (~600#s) to accommodate heavy people doing activities that involved running or jumping on it. The scale and other measurement functions only register up to 330#s (300#s in Japan). HTH

You can jump??? I had to chuckle when I read why the BB could hold 600#s...when I was 300#s I could neither run nor jump. Still can't.

funny that is the good thing about me is that i still have some mobility at this size but jumping might not be one of them.....

Not to sound stupid or anything, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to jump on the balance board! Or at least during jumping activities a big warning pops up on the screen and says DO NOT JUMP ON THE BALANCE BOARD! During jumping activities you are supposed to bend your knees until the point of jumping and then straighten your legs to imitate the jump response.

I got EA Active a couple of weeks ago. It has three levels of exertion, like Biggest Loser. I'm doing the 30 day challenge set at "Moderate" and I feel that it gives a pretty good workout. If you don't want a structured plan you can pick from some pre-made workouts or customize your own. I made a workout that was just variety of the sports activities: tennis, basketball, volleyball and boxing. Goof stuff. It can work with the balance board too, but doesn't require it. Overall quite a nice system. I'd say it's fun but overall it's less so then the Wii Fit. On the other hand it's better exercise, which is more important to me.

Well, if it can comfort you, you aren't allowed to jump in the WII Fit games! If you do, it resets your game and you have to start over!!! I did that a few times on one of my favorite games...SOOOOOOO frustrating!!! LOL! Enjoy it!

So....speaking of Wii games. Has anyone tried the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum one? My Wii came with a free copy of the 2009 version. Amazon has both really good and really bad reviews. I'm going to give it a try tonight, though.

Re: Any recommendations for a good Wii exercise game???

I think Wii "active" and the Wii "active: more workouts" are the best! It allows you to customize greatly and also provides MANY pre-programmed workouts. They have boxing, tennis, baseball, running, all muscle toning exercises, a 30-day challenge program and so much more. My suggestion, try their pre-programmed workouts and then start customizing your own. It is great with a friend.

We also got the Jillian Michales games, but it has its quirks. If you do the program without worrying about what the avatar on the screen is doing in reponse to your movements, it is one of the best overall body workouts you can get. As long as you do the movements as they are intended to be done and don't worry about the "success" of the task, then you will like the program.

Wii Fit Plus seemed too simple and I could not get my heart rate monitor high enough to qualify as a workout, but it was fun.

If you google "Best workouts for the Wii" there are some good breakdowns available. Happy choosing.
