  • DO folk over 50 have a harder time on Atkins?

Okay now that i got your attention Some of our long time members over 50 have noticed that the 50s forum is missing. Discussion has been going on about it and it seems that if enough of the memebers PM the admins asking for it back it will come back. I don't really pay attendtion to how hold folk are as i posted when somebody ask me to contact some of them in another topic unless like the CCs beloved Papajack who proudly brags about being the senior he is.

these are some of the special needs that I'm aware of concerning Atkins and I know they enjoyed sharing about family too when Janice was the mod of that forum before she was forced for family reasons to resign.

special needs of seniors on Atkins
well there is the metaboolic changes of aging and the effect they have on weight loss.
there is the aging and the accumulation of the damage done in our bad eating and poor decisions reagarding care of our bodies in our youth finally showing up and the different meds needed for all those ailing organs and their effect on low carbing. If you look at Dr Atkins meds not to take that can interfer with your weight loss most of our seniors would not be low carbing cause there is no way they can stop taking those meds and they can no longer make an appointment to go see Dr Atkins for altering the meds. It is nice to hear I take the same thing and while I'm a slow loser i'm losing and feeling great too which folk would get posting that in the 50s board that might not get a senior reply in the main or spotlight topics.

there are the aging joints and ways the seniors can share how they exercise without some youngen jumping in and telling them if they want to lose weight they have to RUN as many of our recent exercise topics have been. I know if I had been told with my knees when I started I had to run to lose I would never had done the aerobic exercise part of my Atkins.

Oh and of course there are the health benefits like lowering blood pressure and blood profile improvemnets that docs love to see.

Then there is that empty nest thingie and the emotional health issues dealing with it and not turning to comfort foods or the stress of the kids moving back in and the stress that brings.

I'm sure y'all can think of more Atkins related reasons why ADBB should bring back that forum and might know a ADBBer who is qualified for the forum and would be interested so Please spread the word it can come back if they Pm the Admins.

Ah yes 2big, you did make a comment about me and the over 50s forum. So I had a look and found it gone.

I suppose it would be useful to have back.

I value tremendously your input to the discussion, but as from the beginning I look for the male perspective which is sadly infrequently expressed.

As I have said before, I am the stuff of heavyweight boxers, so I am likely to have different views and concerns to a slightly built girl whose aspiratinons include getting ino a size 8 or less.

We need a full range of views and comfortable corners for everyone.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
      he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Excuse my weak brain cells this evening, but dinner is cooking so I'll be better later. How do I PM one of the admins to let them know I for one would appreciate the 50 forum? What are their IDs?
