  • Atkins Shakes?

When did Atkins stop making the powdered shake mixes? Went shopping for them and can't find them anywhere! All they have now is premixed shakes.

The shakes are for ALL phases correct?

Starting induction tomorrow and since milk & milk products are OUT for now, not to mention juice, I need to find something else to mix my morning smoothie with! I thought these shakes would fit the bill.

    Yes.

Maybe it would be better to find something else to eat for breakfast, now that you are trying to change your eating habits?

Also keep in mind that shakes are not meal replacements.

You need to learn how to eat real, whole foods... and shakes won't help with this.

Ooooo, If I were you, I would be so glad they didn't have the shakes, They are really notorious for stalling folks. If you want to use them, wait until after your first two weeks of induction and during that time, let nothing past your lips that are not on the acceptable list.

Give yourself the best start you can.

You could make egg nogs instead for breakfast.

I do plan to eat real whole foods for lunch and dinner. Perhaps I can use some sort of protein powders or keto shakes or something? Otherwise I'll be choking down my capsuled vitamins one at a time. And some of my vitamins are in powdered form. I'll figure out something to blend them into!!

I saw some shake mix by EADS recently, but it was made from 100% whey... which is dairy and off limits until the dairy rung.

I just take my vitamins with water and eat food for breakfast... usually eggs with a little cheese, tomato, onion, green pepper.... ahhhh so nice.

What is normally in your morning smoothie?
If you have some pure protein (like isolates) with no added sugars or anything you can make something. I mix mine with some cream to add fat content to it.
There are also egg creams or egg nog shakes you can make. These are very good and a different way to have eggs some times

Now we do not try to find stuff to replace sugar heavy drinks like juice or milk. We drink water, water and more water. Healthy stuff.

                      That's a good one, Joseph
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Read the ingredients to the shakes. I remember that the strawberry shake at one point contained dehydrated strawberry bits....which would make it inappropriate for Induction, since strawberries are not allowed during Induction.
