  • Sweetzfree (liquid splenda)

Ok, so I want to try it. I have had the shopping cart minimized in another window all day! I just can't hit send because I am AFRAID that it will be nasty or will cost too much for what I get. I drink coffee daily. I love coffee. I use 2 to 3 splenda packets in a cup. I want something that's better. So I am asking who has bought it? Where from? Any problems? And is there an alternative that's cheaper. Very limited budget here. And yes it's that important to me. I am not a sweet eater. Coffee is my only sweet fix and thank God it didn't stall me when I lost the first 60 lbs and it isn't now.

Thanks in advance for any replies

    Re: Sweetzfree (liquid splenda)

    Greetings to a fellow Louisianian

I use it, and get it from www.sweetzfree.com. I've been using her site for years, and have had excellent customer service. Each one ounce bottle lasts several months for me.

As for taste - I think it's great. However, this is a personal preference... I've known people who think Splenda is terrible. However, if you currently use packet Splenda and like it, I would think you would like the liquid.

A cheaper alternative? None that I have come across.

      Hi Nichole,

The currently available Liquid Sucralose products are essentially similar in composition...water and Sucralose powder...some with added preservatives. The major difference appears to be price. You may find my Sucralose Refractometer Testing Results helpful:

      http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/main-atkins-diet-forum/79898-where-can-i-buy-liquid-splenda.html

I recommend preparing your own from Sucralose powder as described in Test #8.

Here is a copy of a previous post of mine... ;-)

"For those interested in the convenience of ‘accurately’ mixing Liquid Sucralose, without the fuss of weighing to the nearest 100th of a gram or using approximate volume conversions, I would like to suggest you mix a 2 oz, pre measured, packet of Quick Sweet Sucralose Powder (available online at https://www.ahfni.com/store/sucralose.php ) in 1 cup less 2t water… ;-)

How much water do we need to mix with 2oz (56.7g) Sucralose powder?

A 25%w/v (weight/volume) Liquid Sucralose concentration requires 25g Sucralose powder mixed in 100 ml water.

Using a ratio: 25g is to 100ml water as 56.7g is to Xml water; cross multiplying we get X = 56.7*100/25; X = 226.8ml water

Using the Online Volume Conversion site:

      226.8 milliter = 0.96 cups
      1c - 0.96c = 0.04c
      0.04c = 2t

Therefore 1c less 2t water mixed with a 2oz container of Quick Sweet Sucralose powder will yield a concentration of 25% w/v Liquid Sucralose at a strength of 185 times sugar where 1/4t = 1c sugar equivalence."

      ===============

I have been mixing my own Liquid Sucralose for the past 7 years, having purchased pure Sucralose powder from Best Body Products in 2002-3 (producers of Fiberfit, powder no longer available from them). Quick Sweet Sucralose liquid and powder is the most 'cost effective' source of liquid Sucralose (or powder for a homemade version without preservatives) that I have found and I highly recommend them as equivalent to the more expensive SweetzFree and EZ-Sweetz, etc. products.

      Hope this helps...locarbman... ;-)

PS: You may find using the new DaVinci or Torani unflavored Sweetening syrups more suitable (and cost effective ;-) for use with your coffee. I'm currently mixing 3/4 cup of the unflavored syrup in an empty syrup bottle and filling with Heavy Whipping Cream for use as a 'sweet cream' for my coffee...I'm a 'coffee lover' too... ;-)

        Re: Sweetzfree (liquid splenda)

Thanks, I found 2 more answers posted earlier. I found them because of the tags I entered. What about EZ Sweetz? Have any of you heard anything negative about them? I will probably go ahead and spend the $18 at Sweetzfree but I was looking at 1 ounce vs 2 ounces of EZSweetz. for 17.00 (thats including shipping)
        2.0 oz EZ-Sweetz® (1 unit)
        Just on the fence.

        thanks

I purchased Fasweet way dirt cheap at the WalMart market and found it tastes fine. The sweetener in it, however, is saccharin.

            I purchase from ez-sweetz.com : http://www.ez-sweetz.com/servlet/the-ALL/keyword/unit/Categories

            0.5oz container 7.99 + .99 shipping, 8.98 total.

Taste is fabulous, and ZERO carbs!

I put 14 drops in my yogurt whey protein smoothies. You have to experiment to find out exactly how many drops it takes to get your coffee to taste exactly how you like it.

            Good luck!!

              Re: Sweetzfree (liquid splenda)

I am with Mitzi all the way. I ordered the Sweetzfree one-ounce for $18. Shipping was fast, plus they sent a little sample bottle with my order. I keep that one in my purse. You can do the same, and then you'll never have to scramble for a good sugar substitute when you're out and about! I do use it in my coffee, and one drop is good for my tastes. Two is WAY too sweet for me

Well, I ordered the sweetzfree and we shall see LOL. I hope it comes soon because I am down to the last few packets of splenda and don't want to buy anymore.
thanks for all of your help

I order the 4 oz bottle of liquid sucralose on this page. Does anyone see a problem with the ingredients? I've ordered twice so far with no issues.

I don't know, I suddenly got paranoid about the fillers!

Thanks for clearing that up, but yeah, the link I posted is the best deal I've seen so far - $20 for 4 oz. (plus $5 shipping).

I get the ahfni liquid sucralose too. I got the powder and liquid versions initially but have only used the liquid one. I have just run out of the liquid and haveordered the large bottle this time as the shipping costs really add up for delivery to UK., so the postage is less proportionly.
