  • "...this, not that" Opinions?

My wife and I are reading "Eat this, not that" and "Cook This, not That." I find the books to be a little too carb friendly, but I have found that if I pretend that the carbs are not in the recipes, I do a lot better. The books are an eye opener in regards to the restaurant industry. I have also found that fat/oil (monounsaturated) is my friend because it helps satiate me so I don't feel like I want to eat my left arm for food at the end of the day!

    What do y'all think?

BTW, I started over after falling off the wagon around Christmas. 292 lbs two weeks ago; 287 lbs. this morning.

pretending there are no carbs works? Hmmm - I may try that today

I suppose that is not what you meant. But I like those books too. We should do our own low carb version of it. I have to think of something.

Am I the only one who finds a mantra of "Eat this highly-processed crap, not that highly-processed crap" vaguely disturbing? All else being equal, it's a great idea to point out healthier alternatives to certain choices typically made in the supermarket...while keeping in mind that "healthier" is not synonymous with "healthy".

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
