    Went to Safeway today and saw a little pack of bbq smoked salmon for sale. After quizzing the butcher about the ingredients in the bbq sauce, I picked one up. Brought it home, tasted it and didn't like what I tasted. Was expecting an almost jerky like texture, but this was soft and moist. Hub unit suggested something and I tried it, its awesome. I mixed mayonaisse with broken up flakes of the smoked salmon, added enough splenda to just sweeten and voila! An amazing smoked salmon dip for celery etc. You won't believe how good it is! yumm diddly um

    There are different kinds of smoked salmon. The real thin sliced stuff will have that soft chewy texture. Look for the thicker chunks. That will be dryer tasting, more salty and flaky.
