Is it okay to take a supplement that is labeled a fat burner? The ingredients are Vitamins B6, B12, B5, and also some other ingredients that are thermogenics. I don't want it to hinder my weight loss, since this diet uses the fat I consume to burn the excess fat stored in my body.

Well, it might be "ok" ... in that it's might not harm you physically.
It's a waste of money though.
There's no magic pill.
Well, there are to advertisers!J.

Re: Questions on Supplements
I'm not looking for a majic pill. I just already have these on hand. As a matter of fact I've been using them for a little over two weeks now and the B vitamins give me energy and make me feel full. My concern was more geared towards if it would hinder my fat loss on this diet, but thanks for your quick reply.....

Re: Questions on Supplements
It's not likely to "hinder" Atkins ... but it's not likely to help either.
And you can get B vitamins without all the other "junk" in the "fat burners".
Is there caffeine in them?
Did you look up all the ingredients to make sure they're safe?
After all ... phen phen was sold OTC ... and look how that turned out!J.

Re: Questions on Supplements
They do have caffeine in them. All the other "junk" is derived from fruit so I'm not exactly sure what benefits that has.
So the caffeine is a no-no because it could cause cravings right?
I guess I'll discontinue using these.....
I had no idea phen phen was sold over the counter....that did have an ugly outcome...
Thanks for your quick reply.....

Re: Questions on Supplements
I would just go with as "clean" vits as possible just in case. Not worth playing around with some of these things.

Re: Questions on Supplements
I've noticed on the forum that people use the term "clean" a lot. What exactly are you referring to? Is there a specific brand of supplements that are recommended? I read the first publication of Dr. Atkins diet a long time ago, and I just bought the new one that everyone references here, but I'm not finished reading it yet. So any help is much appreciated since I'm not done with the book yet.
Thanks for your reply.....

Re: Questions on Supplements
When I use the term clean I mean the absence of as many chemicals as possible. One of the things I have learned when on Atkins is to read labels and it has opened up a new world for me of realization of how much crap I used to eat.
Others use the word clean when talking about induction. Probably to them it means following the induction perfectly.
In the case of the vitamins in question - I would like to have vitamins without any extras (like fat burners) because I do not want more chemicals than I need in my system.
