  • Help stop the bloating

Hi all. I hope I can get some helpful tips for DH. He and I re-started Atkins about a week and a half ago. I feel like I'm doing okay, but my husband is having a problem with being bloated, big time. I do all the cooking and make sure to incorporate our vegies but I don't know what else it could be that is making him feel as if he is about 8 months pregnant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    There could be several reasons...

Too much sodium. Any processed meats he is eating?

Intolerance to certain foods. Are you varying the menu each day? Is he consuming any products (jello, bars, sodas, etc.)?

    Candida die off.

"Too much" fiber. Is he consuming more now than he did pre-Atkins? Is he taking a fiber supplement?

As far as breakfast and dinner goes, I have been preparing those for him. When it comes to lunch, he is eating what he can grab fast from home such as ham and cheese. I'm sure that could be part of it.

Breakfast this week has been the bacon and swiss quiche. Dinners for example is chicken or pork chops with mock mashed tators or the mock loaded taters. I also made the stuffed green peppers, which by the way were yummy. He doesn't drink soda or eat the bars, but he has had on a couple of occations sf jello with some cool whip.

The fiber may not be too much of an issue but I will start giving him some fiber tabs. I have plenty since I suffer with IBS. The funny thing though, is that when I do this diet, my IBS doesn't act up hardly at all.

      Thanks for the advise!

Yes, that could definitely be the reason.

Maybe you could prepare something like a quiche and he can grab a slice of that instead of that instead of ham and cheese? Or boiled eggs and some veggies?

        sf jello
Some people do experience bloating from jello.

        cool whip
Did he read the ingredients? There's sugar there... and trans fats.

He could whip some heavy cream instead.
