  • My experience with sweeteners/processed foods...

I have lost 45 pounds so far on the Atkins WOE (still have another 60 to go) and have tried many different variations. I see a lot of posts here about new sweeteners, stevia, splenda, etc for dieters to replace their sugar. For me, when I am taking splenda or another no-carb sweetener even in small amounts on my diet, I do not lost weight nearly as fast as I do normally. The same goes for processed foods, there's something about them that, for me, slows my weight loss.

I know that everyone is different and our bodies all work in different ways, but I would like to share my experience that if you are truly dedicated to losing weight, the best solution is to do without any sweeteners or sugar replacements, as well as all processed foods, and move to a strictly natural diet.

This is definitely harder for some than others, but recently I have cut out all sweeteners, processed foods, and even caffeine, and am losing weight at a good healthy pace, faster than I was before.

It is harder, but the results show. If you can, I recommend giving this a try and looking at the difference not only on the scales, but in your digestion and overall feeling.

    Just my 2c.

I think that advice is much more than two cents! Good for you eating healthy. Feels good, doesn't it.

I also really believe you lose weight better this way. It seems that so many people won't part with their sweets or easy packaged/processed foods for long enough to realize that they really don't miss them.

Congrats on your weight loss too!

SOOO TRUE!! I consider myself a low carb finatic, yet I haven't maintained a serious loss yet. WHY? Because I have gotten too fancy with recipes, baking, and finding low carb alternatives for high carb foods. I am restarting induction now, and I already feel better on natural foods. NO fake foods!!!!
