    Like many, I seem to lose on my upper body first. Face, chest and waist. Both my first time on Atkins and now. I keep changing my goal because even when I am losing weight, it doesn't seem to be coming off my hips. Yes, I exercise and try to work on lower body. Odd what summerdressgirl and michelley said. I am the same way except..it is my hips. My right side definitely has more fat than my left (and it has always been like that). Go figure.

        LOL..... me too! And the ribcage area under them.
        Then the area on the back of my thighs, then my face and neck.
        Eventually the rest of it starts to shrink.

        Unfortunately, yes my middle is the last to go.

            I was just wondering the same. I seem to be losing pounds but stalled on the inches around my waist.

            I noticed my double chin is almost all gone, my watch twirls around my wrist, and my ring is loose now. Over the weekend I tried on an older bra I have that wouldnt fit... and wa-la, it fit so I am assuming my back. I could actually grab my hands from the back now with sucking it in. Other than that, my pants just feel a nudge loose.

              Sheila, you are SO LUCKY!!!!!

              For me, I only lost weight around my belly when I took Tonalin CLA. It was so funny to have a tiny waist but a large belly! LOL.

              For the most part, my body is well proportioned after the weight falls off. I do actually lose weight in my breast area, and that's frustrating. But hey, at least I lose weight

                This is something that has bugged me a lot lately. I have lost on face and arms but stomach is just plain stubborn!

                A work colleague told me today that I had lost weight but not around my belly. That depressed me as I have been thinking a lot about it recently. The whole reason for doing Atkins is to get rid of the belly, but it just doesn't seem to be happening despite all the work and time I have invested in this.

                I suppose it is a matter of time and patience like most things.

                  Thought maybe I could shed some light on the subject of why the belly usually comes off last. Bill Phillips, the author of the Body-4-Life program wrote in his book that the reason is blood circulation. Because a lot of us have a lot of fat in our mid-sections, the blood has a harder time circulating. He stated that for men it's usually in the stomach area and for women it usually occurs in the hips and thighs. A solution he recommended was to take an Aspirin every day. It will act as a blood thinner and allow those areas to receive better circulation with the end result being you will lose in those areas quicker.

                    I worry about the whole aspirin thing. There are a lot of warnings these days about using it. Does he give a recommended dosage?

                      He said that one a day would do the trick. That was his only suggestion.

                        I had belly-fat success while taking CLA. Maybe massage and light cardio (walking) will help the circulation issue.

                          I started atkins in late november but every other week just sort of fell off the wagon and was not working out..late december I started to really follow it and added the gym from november to december I only lost like 7 lbs not following it right..from december to march 18 I lost 50 lbs give or take depending what mood my scale is on lol.

                            Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

                            Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
                            Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                            so:

                            01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
                            (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)

                                Definitely from the face and then gradually from the rear...but lord help me, my stomach is the LAST place I lose.
