  • Anyone heard of www.Kimkins.com?

I was on facebook and noticed this ad and clicked on it. There are a few free recipes which look terrific!

    Orange Soda Crockpot Chicken

    Serves 8

2 lb boneless chicken breasts, no skin
    8 oz diet orange soda
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tablespoons cocoa powder
    1 tablespoon chili powder
    1 teaspoons grated orange peel
    1 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 packet Splenda
    1 tablespoon xanthan gum (thickening)

A richly seasoned slow cooker meal! This recipe originally had orange juice in it, but the orange diet soda is just as good!

Rinse chicken, pat dry and cut into 1 1/2" chunks. In a 3 quart or larger electric slow cooker, combine chicken, onion, garlic, orange peel, chiles, cocoa, Splenda, cinnamon & cumin and mix lightly. Pour in orange soda. Cover and cook at LOW setting until chicken is very tender when pierced (6 to 7 hours).

Skim and discard fat from cooking liquid, if necessary. Then blend in xanthan gum or other low carb thickener. Increase slow cooker heat setting to HIGH. Cover and cook, stirring 2 or 3 times, until sauce is thickened (about 10 more minutes). Season to taste with salt.

I don't like to talk down people (although Kimmers deserves it), but that recipe looks revolting. How is she even still advertising?

Now I'm intrigued! Is she just a ripoff of Atkins? I have no idea who she is and certainly wasn't going to pay anything to join what looked like just an email service for meal plans.

      Dying to know!

That's one way of putting it.

She's involved in a MAJOR class action suit for fraud.

Haha, to be honest SMKelly, I thought you were being sarcastic in your first post, and that you were teasing her for still advertising! I only found out about her on this board, too. Live and learn!

the lawsuit is still ongoing so she is still up and running trying to lure even more folk to her dangerous plan.
her recipes are low fat so atkinseers should steer clear or you will have hunger issues afterwards along with the cravings.
BTW if you know somebody who did join her site please tell them about the class action lawsuit and to click the link on those sites to join.

Amen. I saw that recipe and felt queasy. Both because of the ingredients and because Kimmer is apparently still advertising. I hope Kimmer and her starvation diet burn in Hades.

was getting nauseous reading the recipe... reminded me of a friend who was serving as a missionary in chiapas mexico. one night during a guerilla attack all they had to prepare to feed the folks in the compound was a couple chickens and coca cola... they made chicken and coca cola soup and survived without hunger. needless to say nobody has repeated the recipe since except under gunfire LOL

Kimmer is a morbidly obese woman who scammed tens of thousands of members out of anywhere from $20-$90.00 for her "diet secrets" which include eating 500 calories a day while exercising, eating a pinch of lettuce each day, and using laxatives.

And those were the highlights. If you ever see her ads on Facebook, please report them. I know ever since I saw one and reported it, I've never seen another!
