  • I have a client dinner to attend, and I need advice.

I am attending a client dinner at a restaurant called - of all things - "Pasta Mia" tonight. Lucky me.

    Here's their menu:

Pasta Mia West Dinner Menu - Las Vegas

I'd like a little advice on ordering from you experienced folk out there - I really don't eat out much in general and I'm trying to spot the dangers.

I don't know whether or not their chicken marsala or parmesagna has flour in it or not (some recipes call for breading, some don't). I don't like fish so those aren't options for me.

Theoretically, I think I could be safe with the house salad, assuming the house vinagrette doesn't have sugar or balsamic - I can't imagine if they use balasamic it's the real, no-worries deal. But I'd like a chicken dish too if I can manage it!

Would it be too weird if I had the salad and sauteed broccoli?

A salad and sauteed broccoli wouldn't be weird at all.

the chicken marsala would be great.....but unfortunately, most recipes require that the chicken is dusted with flour before sauteeing. But think of it this way, when you get to OWL Rung 9, that chicken marsala will be legal!

    Parmigiana....it's usually breaded.

What about the roasted chicken with peppers and onions? Without much more detail about the seasoning it's a toss-up, but on the surface it seems pretty safe.

check out those appetizers and be a cheap dinner date by having one with your salad

do you like squid? they serve it cold with .... so it wouldn't be breaded. the antipasta looks great too
and they have a warm chicken breast salad for your chicken fix.

be sure to ask for no croutons and if your client isn't having a salad be sure to ask for your salad be brought with their dinner so you are not sitting with notheing while they eat and they have nothing while you eat your dinner.

Yeah, not a big fan of the squid, but the warm chicken breast salad might work just fine...

I can ask about the roasted chicken w/pepper & onion as well...

          Thanks everyone!

So, they had a scallops special (pan seared in a garlic, lemon & white wine sauce - they assured me there were no thickeners in the sauce, and when I got the meal, it was a VERY thin sauce indeed) with mixed veggies that I ended up having.

With that and the house salad (served family style, so the dressing was on the side - I ended up sprinkling dry parm on top instead, yum), I ate pretty good!

Glad to hear it went well for you

I went to a dinner theater Thursday night...the menu was: mushroom soup, bread, carrots, corn, potatoes, roast beef, gravy & horseradish Oh...and of course, cheesecake. Fortunately I knew this ahead of time, so I ate a salad before I went. It was served buffet-style, with servers, so I got a few carrots and a bit of corn & gave it to my husband. I just ate the beef with a bit of horseradish
