  • Bacon stall??

Does anyone experience a stall when they eat too much bacon?
Is a pound a week too much?
I usually make a pound of bacon on Sunday afternoon and divide it up
into 5 tupperware containers . I also scramble up about 18 eggs and divide that up in the containers too so I can grab one each morning for a quick breakfast.
Anyway one week last month I didn't have time to make bacon and eggs so I just made due all week. (no bacon and eggs)
I lost 3.8 pounds that week!! I had only been losing a pound a week before that. But I still didn't put two and two together and started eating bacon and eggs again the next week.
I really don't want to stop eating the bacon and eggs because I don't have anything else that is quick and tasty to make.
My husband has an absolute fit over all the bacon I eat in a week. He says it is unhealthy.

What else are you eating other than bacon and eggs?

How much water are you drinking daily?

What did you eat for breakfast the week you didn't have bacon and eggs?

what did you sub for thre bacon and eggs the week you didn't have them or did you just skip breakfast that week? less cals/less sodium could account for the weight loss that week or you could have been due for a loss as weight loss isn't linear and we will have some flat times and even some upward times but the overal trend will be downward

The week I didn't have bacon and eggs I just packed a salad. But with the dressing and sunflower seeds, the salad had about 10 more carbs than the bacon and eggs.

I drink 88 ounces of water a day. I just got a nifty new app on my ipod touch that helps me keep track of my water and food so I make sure I am drinking enough and not eating too much.

I think the name of it is "low carb assistant".

It was $3.99 but it is so worth it. You can input your own recipes and like I said it also keeps track of your water intake.
You can also put in your weight every morning and it tells you your BMI and shows you your weight loss graph.
I could go on and on.
It's awesome. Worth every penny. I am going to look up the name in a minute to be sure I told you the correct one.

Bacon can be vastly different depending on brands as some contain more sugar/salt etc than others.

What is the nutrition info and ingredients listed on yours?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I use Farmlands Best. It doesn't have sugar but it does have nitrates. I am still stalled as of now and I haven't ate any bacon all week. I'm gonna stick it out but it's hard.

                  Re: Bacon stall??

I'm confused about your stall. A stall is defined by Dr Atkins as 4 weeks without any loss of scale weight nor inches. are you saying you haven't lost anything in 4 weeks?

Yes. I have been hovering around 175 for over 4 weeks. Not losing inches either. Grrrrrr.
TOM is here today though. Maybe that has something to do with it.

TOM will effect everything. hang in there

what are you doing as your mandatory exercise part of your Atkins? have you been increasing your intensity and/or duration as you got smaller cause females lose about 9 cals off their BMR for every pound they shed and we either have to eat less or work more to burn off those cals to keep shedding body fat

                        Re: Bacon stall??

OK here goes........I am not exercising.......much. I don't have time when I get home from work. (My 10 year old is failing 3 classes so when I get home from work we do homework and go over the days lessons which takes about 3 hours. so that makes it about 8pm. Then the baby needs a bath and bottle. By then I'm exhausted and ready for bed)
But at work I have nothing but time so I usually walk around the office for about 30 minutes a day. It's not a lot but it's all I can swing right now until summer gets here.
When the days get longer and the weather gets warmer I will go on walks in the late evening too.
I was going to wait till I got closer to my goal weight before I start to weight train. I am just so stupid about how to do it. I even tried out for Jillian Michaels new show so she could help me learn how to work out. Pretty pathetic huh?

You could start lifting small weights now and get some benefits - even using cans of veg or bottles of milk

Weightlifting seems to help us sculpt our body even if we are not losing pounds, so it is worth doing now.

just lifting the baby and playing with it could be weight training and exercise. come join the presidents challenge and see all the stuff you can count as exercise.

Your 10 yr old can tolerate 3 full hours no breaks of school work? I'm impressed. He should be seeing a huge improvement in his grades from all that extra tutoring

It's either 3 extra hours trying to play catch up with his school work or he can repeat 4th grade. He chose the extra work. He is a good boy and is already improving.

As for myself I woke up today and weighed in at 174.6. That's the first time I've been under 175. Even though it's not much I'm taking it as a sign from above to keep going!
