  • Protein smoothie

Although we are not supposed to be taking in "fake" food, every one in a while I just do not have time to eat something good, and I think this could be a good "in case of emergency" option for the later phases of Atkins...Any comments?

    Re: Protein smoothie

Have you checked out Jay Robb's egg white protein powders? They're a little more expensive, but so worth it--and they're sweetened with stevia. My kids even like the shakes made from his powders, and I think he lists maybe seven ingredients, all ok in my book.

        Re: Protein smoothie

I am guessing that Jay Robb may not be more expensive than Isofemme. And perhaps a better choice.
The ingredients in the protein shake you list looks good if you know you can deal with the sweeteners (the Ace K and Splenda). It lists isolate as its first ingredient and that is one thing you should look for.

I do shakes a lot. Not guilt what so ever . I love them.

I checked out the prices and Jay Robb comes out more expensive because it is from the States...automatic $16 more for shipping (the can costs $23.95!) plus duty...I can get Isofemme from a Canadian company and not pay duty and shipping is cheaper ($9.95 unless I spend $99 in which case it's free!)

How about buying a product in the store? Almost all health foodstores and workout stores and health section in the super markets have some? Just read the ingredients.
Sorry I did not notice you were Canadian too. I do not get Jay Robb either because I do not want to pay for shipping and I prefer to buy in local stores if I can.

              Re: Protein smoothie

I do have a GNC here in Sherbrooke, but I am going to Montreal on tuesday and I know a big supplement store there. I am going to stop by and see what they have to offer. There is also a HUGE health food store that has all types of vitamins and supplements as well as organic foods...
              Thanks!

Aw man! I didn't realize they don't sell it up there. Tell you what: drive to the border and I'll drive up and lob it over the fence.

Hey! That works! FWIW, I've seen the Jay Robb Egg white Protein Powder for sale at the major Supermarkets like Kroger. That's where I buy mine.

I'm in Canada too, we got the Kaizen brand at Costco. It's 100% of the isolate, and 1 carb per scoop. I like to drink one about half an hour before I work out. I add a little heavy cream so that I have more fat. When I do that it tastes like milk lol.
