Mayyonaise?-UK atkiners mainly

Hi ALL,

I was wondering if you use Hellman's mayonnaise or anyother that you can recommend and how much of whichever you use?

As im from the UK i thought this would be best answered by those living in the UK too that use the UK version/brand of hellman's mayonnaise.

If others can add to this though feel free ofcourse as always

Hellmann's has sugar added. Many people are not affected by that... but you could also make your own mayo.

Don't forget to count the carbs in it.

Most UK mayonnaise has a little bit of sugar. I have never had problems with that. Waitrose used to make sugar-free mayo but don't anymore. I like Sainsburys own full fat mayo - nicer flavour than hellmans (I think) and much cheaper.

so is hellmans still ok?

i looked online and cant see a full fat mayo or maybe not sure what im looking for could you kindly look on their website and maybe send me a link please?

I am glad this was posted as in the book everything is geared around usa brands it can be a little difficult. I have had to google quite a few vegatables listed as i had never heard of them!

I quite like Sainsburys french mayo too, have you tried that one?


I do have a big jar of Hellmans Full fat mayo in the fridge though. I never buy diet as its just full of sugar!!

Which mayonnaise in particular did you want us to look at?

If the Sainsbury's own label, it looks fine.

As does the Hellman's Real.

There could be others, too!

D'oh, sorry - I tried it out and it took me where I wanted. It is just Sainsburys own brand. I have used Hellmans and that for ages without problems.
