Re: Which one should I believe??
Doesn't really matter...Pick one and base your weight loss on the same one all of the time. The scale at my boyfriend's house reads about 2 pounds less than mine...both are digital...his is a $30 model and mine was a $100 model (tanita scale which also measures fat percentage, but I never use that feature LOL!!!). When I go to the doctor's office with the old fashioned scales, mine is right on...F44yrs young 5'7" SW172/CW152/GW140

Re: Which one should I believe??
I have digital now, but I keep the "oldie" right next to it, in case the batteries die.
I have 2 eight pound dumbells that I used to use to make sure the "oldie" was starting out correctly. For mine that was at about 2 lbs, instead of 0.

Re: Which one should I believe??
Scales are way overrated!! i wouldn't spend lots of money on one just find one that you like and only weigh yourself going forward on that scale. when u have to make a trip to the dr weigh yourself on your scale before u go and then u will know if your dr scale is wrong!!

Re: Which one should I believe??
Weight loss will be the same no matter which scale you use, so pick the one you like best and go for it! You're not going to just pick a weight that you want to attain anyway, you'll go by how you feel once you get to a desired one. You'll think - hey, I feel like I could still lose a few more pounds, or you could say hmm...this doesn't feel right, I think I need to be a few pounds heavier.
Either way - the scale is there to give you a visual progress report. You can also use measurements - those shouldn't change though depending on the measuring tape you use, lol.
Mini Goals:
Goal 1 - 10% (September 13th, 2009)
Goal 2 - Pre-Pregnancy Weight with 2nd Child (September 27th, 2009)
Goal 3 - 50 lbs down (December 1st, 2009)
Goal 4 - Highest Pregnancy Weight with 1st right before c-section (February 20, 2010)
Goal 5 - Lowest weight reached on WW after having 1st child
Goal 6 - 100 lbs down
Goal 7 - Pre-pregnancy weight with 1st
Goal 8 - Weight I met my husband
Goal 9 - 150 lbs down
Goal 10 - Weight in Grade 8
Goal 11 - Weight in Grade 6

Re: Which one should I believe??
digital scales are not always a good choice my freind says hes got one and when ever he steps on it it says error cause hes too heavy
then when you get a normal scale and your too heavy it go's way past the max weight mark but atleast it shows something rather than error

Re: Which one should I believe??
Weighing yourself on two different scales should show you that different scales will give you different results.
That's why it's best to 1) use the same scale, and 2) realize the number is relative!J.

Re: Which one should I believe??
Ok, so when I read this post I IMMEDIATELY ran into the other bathroom and pulled out the "oldie" scale. I have been using a digital scale. I was shocked to see that I after I calibrated the scale and all, I am 8 pounds lighter on that scale than with the digital scale! I know it's not really accurate, but it DID stroke my ego for about a minute...lol..."My goals minus my fears equal my reality"

Re: Which one should I believe??
Mine is a ten-dollar Walmart special, and it weighs you ten pounds light. I found out by going to the doctor and getting weighed...apparantly I gained 10 pounds in the 4 miles from my house
((
I once had 2 doctors' appts back to back, and I weighed 5 pounds less on the endocrinologist's digital than on the gynocologist's old-fashioned sliding scale.

Re: Which one should I believe??
Personally, I pick one scale to consistently weigh myself and stick to that one. I don't know that even my doctor's scale is spot-on, but it's the one scale my doctor's office uses to weigh patients.
If I want to measure my success accurately, I use the tape measure. Clothes can shrink and stretch. Scales can fail. The tape measure doesn't lie.

I know what you mean my neck, arms bust whatever is shrinking according to the tape measurement but the stomach still the same!
