  • HOLY SH*T!!!

    I've lost 156 cm / 61 inches. First time I actually calculated. I went from 39% body fat to 26%. I'm a size 8 in clothes, aiming for a size 6 or a 4. I have a 29 inch waist which I'm very proud of.

    And here I was walking around, all depressed, for weighing 165 lbs. I was focusing on the scale, alone! Wow, what an eye opener.

    ... DANG! Now I want to work out! :joy

    Tripped at the finishing line and fell back! Restarted the 17th of May 2008, now at 163/163/130.

    Congratulations! You are shrinking! The tape measure is definitely your friend. Glad to see you've had such tremendous results. Great job!

      Good for you! I unfortunately have never measured (I am an idiot). By the time I decided I should have I had already lost the bulk of the weight to this point. But even though I've been maintaining through the winter people who haven't seen me say that I am still losing weight. I find that good to hear because I know I've been struggling with the scale. But lately he's becoming my friend again.

                Woo hoo for you!!!!


                See I keep telling folk to make friends with those tape measures casue you will be smaller at the same weight on the way back down them you were on the way up cause of the added muscle tissue and dneser bones that carried your heavier body!

                  Thank you for posting you success in "inches". The scale is moving slow for me but I am noticing that my clothes are fiting much better. Especially my bras and tops. I am going to measure every month.
                  I am so glad that you reminded me that it's not only the scale that matters.

                      Yes, yes, yes, everyone, stay away the scale and pick up the tape measure. Congratulations Ailah.

                      Have you examined why are you aiming for a size smaller than 8? Maybe 8 is the right size for you and the size your body wants to be.

                      If you get to a size four would you be aiming for a size 2 or a zero?
                      How about a -2?

                          One thing for sure. When we eat the atkins way. We loose the weight out of our fat deposits instead of losing muscle mass. We all know that muscle weighs more than fat. So our bodies get smaller and we still weigh more than people realize.

                          Fo instance. I weight 196. My measurements are 40-36-40.5. I just bought some new underwear, bra size 38C and panties size 7. My clothes sizes are, tops Large, pants size 12/14 or 14. You know I thought I would be at my goal and be these sizes, but I want to weight 175-180. So I have a ways to go yet. Wonder what size I will be at 180.

                            Thats fantastic!!!!! I'm 127 and in a loose size 6...working my way down to a 4. I'm 5'2 but very thick waisted. Seems to be the last place for me to lose. I never ever dreamed of being a size 6 so it was such a surprise when I had to keep getting smaller and smaller sizes to try on!
                            You'll get there!!!! Atkins still amazes me how we can lose so many inches, but be at a higher weight!!!

                            And yes...get that exercise in. I think for me...that's been one of the reasons why I fit into a smaller size that I realized!!!!!

                              That's an acceptabel wasit size i think? I'm 5'4" and my waist is 27". Keep in mind everyone has a different bone structure..it can vary alot.
