  • Hello again, yada yada....

I'm starting over again, after falling off the side of LC mountain during the holidays. On top of the usual stressors, we moved to a new home right before christmas, had family stay with us for a week, and then came school, etc etc etc.....That's life and no reason for me to let myself go! End rant.

So, I've gained back about 8 pounds of the 30 that I lost last year. Not too shabby, I know, but my back pain is back, my pants are tight, and I feel like a slob! And you know what? Very few of the carbs I ate were even satisfying.... So back into induction I go! Just got back from the market and I am ARMED AND READY! *grin*

Today I've eaten 3 deviled eggs, some ham, and a protein shake. Tonight, cheese stuffed burgers with a side of broccoli. YUM!

    Thanks for having me!

    Welcome back!

You don't say how much you eat for dinner, but that doesn't seem to be enough food... or vegetables.

Have you been eating at least every 6 hours?

What was in that protein shake? Did you add some fat to it?

      Re: Hello again, yada yada....

I went to the dentist this morning, and my mouth was numb for like 3 hours. So I know I haven't eaten enough today! I'll say the burger is on the large side...not sure how many ounces. I am planning on having a quick and easy salad before I go in to class tonight, and probably take some cold cuts with me. It was a Worldwide pure protein shake in a can: 1g fat, 21g protein, 2g net carbs.

The deviled eggs had quite a bit of mayo in them. I am a fan of fat. What do you do to fatten up your protein shakes?

Rest assured, I'll eat enough. I'm quite a piggy...

I am glad you have crept back

I don't make shakes but I have seen that other members usually add cream or eggs to protein shakes to up the fat intake and avoid overdosing on protein.

You could also make shakes without the protein powder to avoid the 'excess protein converting to glucose' scenario. BTW was it protein isolate or protein powder?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I would love to find a shake that was legal for us. Bought some powder and mixed with heavy cream it was so so.

I made myself one of them shakes this morning. I believe they're called egg creams in some circles. Two eggs and a splash of heavy cream with some davinci sf syrup. I'm going to go back to having those instead of the canned shakes!
