  • indoor workouts

So yesterday after school I had to scoot home fast as the rain was starting to freeze on the streets and cars. Following a good layer of ice we now have about a foot of snow here in Tulsa now.

I had determined to exercise daily, but since I'm pretty much locked in the house I dusted off the balance ball (literally... it was filthy LOL) and managed some crunches and back exercises.

What are some of your rainy day or snow day indoor exercises?

Workout DVD's are awesome! I have several that I really like, and having more than one ensures that you won't get bored. You can find great deals on them at amazon.com. I personally use Slim In 6, Hip Hop Dance Party with Jennifer Galardi, Belly Dance Rhythms, and my newest addition is the Jillian Micheals videos. I got all 3 from Amazon for only $24 and that was with shipping! It includes the 30 day shred, No more Trouble Zones, and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. I am currently on Level 2 of the shred and it is a great workout, and only about 27 mins long. Also I don't know if you have access to on-demand, but they have workouts you can watch for free, and also I tivo workouts off of FitTV all the time, you just have to fast forward the commercials, which is no biggie. Anyway hope this helps!

        Re: indoor workouts

I also turn to videos for the most part. I have quite a selection now - I have some that are yoga, some pilates some aerobics and some strength so depending on what is up in the rotation I will do that.
I also have a written down lifting routine that I may do at times (squats, lunges, deadlifts, flys, pushups etc)
You are turning into quite an exercise girl. Way to go

If you need some balance ball workouts quick, I usually go on youtube. It's amazing what you can find there.

Yoga, my bicycle (I have a gizmo that converts a road bike to a stationary bike) and I do free weights. I used to borrow work-out videos from the library and friends, then I realized that the exercises were just modifications of the exercises we did in physical education class. So I just do the phys. ed exercises: sit-ups, push-ups, etc.

well I think I have a brilliant solution for you... a rebounder/mini trampoline. It is fabulous exercise you can do indoors and whilst watching tv or listening to music and i easy on the joints and its so much fun it doesnt even feel like exercise. they are not very expensive either. good luck x
