    Kill the cheese!

I had this problem and it just may be part of the problem you are having--it may be kind of hard but KILL THE CHEESE and see what happens.

Sure it is induction friendly, but not everyone can consume the 2-3 oz a day of cheese and still lose.

Also make sure you are drinking enough water and eating enough. If you do not eat enough your body will go into starvation mode--basically all weight loss will come to a hault. Remember to add variety so you don't get board with this WOE.

      My assessment:

      1. I don't see nearly enough vegetables there.
      2. Probably not enough overall calories. If you don't eat enough calories your body will think it's in starvation mode and hold onto every bit of fat it can.

Please read the book - at least the first 2 sections, and then read it again.

I also agree with people's questions about your actual weight. Have you tried measuring rather than relying on the scale? It could be that your weight is fine, and you just need to change your percentage of body fat, which would make your body smaller and your clothes fit better.

Also, you may be doing too much cardio. Doing 60 minutes of cardio AND THEN hitting the weights is totally counterproductive. Not only does it give you less energy when you do go to weights, but you wont be able to lift as hard and then you wont build muscle. Also if you dont eat adequate protein afterwords, you will actually lose muscle. And listen to the ladies concerning the diet.

there are a lot of carb foods allowed on induction all the foods I listed for you have carbs in them but they are Atkins acceptable for induction carbs because they have minimal blood sugar impact.
there are body parts like red blood cells that have no mitochondria, parts of the retna and some areas of the brain that must have fuels in the form of sugar every day so we eat a bit of carbs that can be converted to sugars for those areas of our body. the rest of the body has mitochondria and can exist on fatty acids as fuel quite nicely.

Are you reading Dr Atkins' New DIet Revolution 2002 or newer? Is so then you would not be confused about eating those salad and food carbs on induction as long as you keep your daily totals under 20 net and you only eat the ones from the acceptable foods lists not any 20 net you want.

Read the book so you are doing a cliffsnote version of your program. Chapter 8 is all about good carbs so you can see Dr Atkins is abiout eating carbs in the form of veggies, whole fruits and grains if your metabolism can handle them.

A warm thank you to all those who took the time to reply to my post, I have recently had some developments.

After taking all of your advice onboard I opened a free account at http://www.fitday.com and systematically went through what I was eating. I cut out all cheese and found that I was drinking a lot of sparkling water which claimed it had trace 1.5g carbs/ltr. When I read all the small print on it, it stated it contained artificial sweetners (aspartamin) not sure of the spelling! I read on this board and the book that this is a no no.

I cut out this water for natural spring (still) water and drank earl grey with sucralose and miniscual amounts of skimmed milk. I also drank peppermint herbal tea and really went strict on my diet all I have been eating is Omelettes (no cheese) with mushroom and bacon, Chicken breasts, lettuce, brocolli, spinich, veg, steak and fish and drank 2-4 lts of water a day

I stuck rigid to this and within a day I was heavily into ketosis the strip went dark red, sometimes it would go not so dark but nonetheless I stayed in ketosis. I got home from a trip today and weighed myself and I am 132lbs WOW thats a loss of 5-6lbs since last weds. I am SO pleased

Thankyou all for pointing me in the right direction and helping me get on-track!

            Best wishes

great job. Good catch on your water. you maybe one of the 25% of the population that are effected by aspartame in stalling weight loss or it might be the cheese you removed too. but you should be having cream not skin milk in your coffee as skim milk has more lactose and carbs then the full fat cream.

So now that you have straightened out your induction problems it is time for you to start OWL the great food experiment and see how well your body can handle the healthy carbs you will be eating as a part of your Atkins WOE to maintain the new smaller you as you progress.

              Happy low carbing.
