  • Quick question - Ketosis and urine output

Hi. I've been on extended induction for 4 1/2 weeks. I'm in ketosis, drinking at least 8 servings of water per day, and working out 5 days/week. I've noticed I'm not peeing very much. For example, today I've only gone twice. I rarely drink anything except water.

I used to drink vanilla lattes, diet Coke, and iced tea throughout the day... maybe a bottle of water but usually probably not.

Wondering if there's any correlation between ketosis and urine output. Thanks.

That's probably not enough for you ... which is why you're not peeing very much.

Aiming for 1/2 your current body weight in ounces of water works for most.

If you don't drink enough, your body will retain water.

If you don't drink enough, you'll have trouble with constipation.

If you don't drink enough, you probably won't lose.

from your post it looks like you have lowered your fluid intake. Try drinking more water and seeing if you don't pee more.

You are supposed to drink 1 cup of water for every 15 minutes of exercise alone. Some exercise sites suggest weighing yourself before exercise i.e an hour or more and after, because any weight loss immediately after exercising is definately water loss.

And I imagine what little you do put out is dark in color... and that's not good. Yes, up your water intake so you can flush all the yuck out more efficiently.
