  • Asian bistro?

Tomorrow night we are going out for one of my friend's birthdays, and seeing as how it will be only my 4th day on plan, I don't want to mess up. I know that I can have the stir-fry bowl with meats and the allowed veggies. However, I'm wondering about the sauces. I can eat it plain if need be, but does anyone know of any Asian sauces that are induction friendly? Thanks in advance.

I can't imagine that any of the sauces are friendly ... if not sugar, then the thickening agent won't be friendly.

      Probably none would be IF,
and - don't take this wrong - that is too general of a question...everyone would make their sauces their own way anyhow...and they most likely get their sauces in bottles or powdered packaged mixes to add to other products, from their food suppliers, unless they make them from scratch, which I doubt.

Are they a chain, or franchise? More likely to be bottled, packaged, sauces.

If they are a privately owned establishment, you may be able to request a specially made sauce minus any thickeners, sugars, etc. Call ahead if possible and ask.

And don't be surprised if you pick up a little water weight from any seasonings, happens quite often when you dine out. Just comes with the territory.

      Have fun!

Sauces typically contain sugars and thickeners that aren't Atkins friendly unfortunately. The good news is Mongolian barbeque (the stir fry bowl thing) is awesome without the sauce. I actually prefer mine without the sauce as it added too much salt. I wonder if there is a recipe for some sort of sauce that would work on Atkins... and you take a small container of it in your purse? I know that sounds weird but I've traveled to restaurants with my own salad dressing before LOL

That is so not weird - I was actually thinking about taking my induction friendly Ranch dressing in with me! I think I am just going to go without the sauce. It will probably be just as delicious that way.
