  • I have been an eating machine today!

    TOM is just around the corner and I feel like I ate like a cow today! Nothing off plan just too much! I had 2 hot dogs (no sugar), 2 fried eggs, & 2 pieces of swiss cheese for breakfast. Then I have also had (get ready for this *sigh*) 2 small pork chops, 2 cups of green beans, 2 small salads with about a 1/4 of a red pepper & 4 small hot Mexican peppers, and my own vinaigrette dressing, a 1/4 of a small bag of salt & vinegar pork rinds, 2 individual packs of mini pepperonis, 2 reduced sodium cheese sticks (I am all to aware of the amount of sodium I have had today! I swear its TOM related!) and then I made clouds arrggggghhhh!!! I had 2 clouds and licked one of the beaters & the bowl I mixed them in. Oh and I also had 1/2 of a bottled Diet Pepsi and 1/2 cup of peanuts (geeeeez the list is never ending!). Sufficed to say I am no longer hungry or interested in munching but how much damage do you think I have caused? I know realistically probably not much as I do exercise at a very moderate intensity everyday (I do Level 1 & 2 of the shred and then a 15 minute ab routine) and I drink plenty of water, but I need reassurance I also quit smoking a few weeks ago (it will be a month Monday! yeah!!!) but I really think it is TOM related the whole I needed something salty then I needed something sweet, anyway I just needed to hold myself accountable for my Atkins legal binge

    congrats on keeping it within the legal foods.
    and congrats on giving up the cancer stix

    TOM can effect your blood sugar and lots of other body functions not related to the flow part most folk never know about so you can expect more Iwants every month when TOM arrives.

    have you got a plan ready for it for next month after seeing what happened today?

    if not now would be the time toi make one so you can cut off that eating machine I wants when you are not feeding your hunger.

      Thanks! As for a plan, I usually do really well during my TOM this isn't my first month on Atkins (its actually like my 9th), I'm not really sure what went on today, but it sure does help to be able to come on here and tell someone or many someones, it seems to be very helpful tome to make sure someone knows what I did, legal or not so that I can hear the criticism, its a good motivator Plus one thing I have found that helps me online is looking at fitness tips and the like, thanks again for being here

        looks like you need to skip the scales tomorrow as your sodium intake was prety high and you should be retining fluids.

        Have you been tracking your foods on Fitday? if so check your reports section and see if any of the mineral salts were low. that could trigger your craving salty stuff. things like potssium magnesium and even sodium

          I only weigh-in once a week and only on Mondays, and typically I don't take to heart my weight on the week my TOM falls in, so no worries thereI will check the reports on Fitday tho, thanks!

            good I'd hate to see a I gained and ate only legal foods topic tomorrow LOL. the sugar would be from tOM messing with blood sugar but haven't seen any TOM salt effects papers.

              You won't see any posts like that from me I have been doing this WOE long enough to know your weight fluctuates even daily, I just know that the pair of pants I couldn't wait to fit in 9 months ago are now starting to get to big on me, so I'm gonna just keep on pushing forward and working my butt off (literally ) Thanks for the support tho, it helps to know we're not in this thing alone!

                  hello i allso found i eat more during tom ....during tom our bodies use more energy ....so i think its just your bodys way of telling you it needs a little more fuel.
                  i allso find i have a bigger weight loss this time of month .
                  keep up the good work .

                    Ohhh I relate to that seriously. I was in ketosis (not intentionally) in December and around that time I started eating like a MANIC. It was a new experience for me. I could not stop eating. Like, I went to see my doctor about it - it was scary. I dread what Mother Nature has in store for me every month. She also seems to back the days up further and further to where I end up with PMS starting in the middle of the month. That's messed up, Mother Nature.

                      I battle compulsive overeating, so I can really identify with binging on even the good stuff. Heck I could binge on grass clippings I think given the right mood.

                      I would first log everything into FitDay and get a feel for how many carbs I really had consumed. I'm in OWL so at times I've been able to go a little over my CLL and be ok. Other times not. I always gain a couple pounds around TOM then lose them really fast after.

                      Next I journal about it, and you've more or less done that by posting this thread. Accountability is a strong tool for success. I applaud you for your candor and for jumping back in the game in spite of a minor setback.

                      Drink lots of water to flush your system. Try to work in some cardio even if it's just getting out of the house and taking a walk around the mall. The exercise will put you in a better mood and will help burn off the extra calories. You may find that next time instead of attacking the fridge you attack your sneakers LOL

                        I can SO relate. I am also dealing with the TOM right now. I usually do really well but lately I have ate EVERYTHING it seems like. All legal foods, but a LOT of it! Im gonna stay off the scale until this blows over! Good job on eating legal foods though!
