I did a half marathon today in full ketosis. I only drink water. However, I think I may need some electrolytes or something. I burnt 2444 calories according to my heart rate monitor. I got chicken wings after the race (not breaded) and I threw it all up. I am now STARVING, but considering I feel like I've been hit by a bus, I do not feel like cooking anything whatsoever. I just want to sip some powerade zero, maybe?? My tummy is not going to tolerate much, and even though I am starving, I have NO appatite. I am really trying hard to loose the weight, so I don't want any powerade zero if its gonna kick me out of ketosis! HELP!! I feel like garbage and I can barely walk!

I would try to get some electrolytes, maybe Smart Water or like you said Powerade zero if that's carb free... the Smart Water has electrolytes without the sweetener. I use whey protein shakes after workouts that help me get nutrition and settle my tummy.

Congratulations on your 1/2 marathon!!! Wish I had a good suggestion, but everything I can think of involves some form of cooking... maybe a smoothy with cream, strawberries, blue berries, and some raw egg... mmmm.... sounds delish! Don't know what rung you're on though... good luck and hope your tummy feels better soon. Sounds like you really need some electrolytes. Don't forget your supplements and take some potassium too.

I applaude you for doing 13 miles on induction. It does seem like it would be hard to find something to replace electrolytes in that case. Maybe that is expecting a little too much while on induction. I was wondering if when you exercised that you had more ketones in the urine afterward because you burned more fat, or less, because the ketones were used up and did not spill over into the urine? Curious as to how this works!

Hi, while I do pee on the sticks every morning, I noticed no difference in the purple color after the race. I also did not lose any weight. I think if anything, I harmed my body. I shocked the system, and I STILL feel crappy. My body is aching and I really am in pain. My heart rate averaged 194 throughout the race!!!!

so you got muscle tissues retaining fluids adding scale weight which means you lost some more body fat congrats.
curious doid you weigh per and post race to see if you were dehydrated post race?
have you looked at making your own low carb electrolyte drinks for your running next time? I know one person who was a sodium secreter who ran the NO marathon and used soy sauce packets for her needed sodium replacements. if you don't need sodium but do need other salts you could uses some of your induction veggies to make you a soup you could drink cold during your run or you could get some potassium salts as those are what the no salts and the low sodium table slats contain.
some folk use pedialyte since that has electrolytes something none of the power drinks hade until the new ion drink came along. as you can see on their site people are not losing much of anything in sweat since they say a person only needs 100 mg of sodium, 24 mg of potassium 2.5mg of calcium and 1.2 of magnesiumby the book atkinseer
