  • any thoughts ?

    A friend of mine stated to me that she is going to start eating only eggs for breakfast and eating grilled chicken with steamed cabbage for lunch and dinner. Does anyone know if Cabbage helps along with the weight loss process? She is set on getting optimal results before a vacation that is 7 weeks away... I am wondering if this could be a great way to get fast results? I was considering trying this myself. I workout every day for 45 min cardio and every other day I add my weight circuit to that. Any thoughts?

    Cabbage, eggs and chicken are all okay for Induction. However, eating only that is... sorry... a dumb idea. Not to mention how bad eating the same thing every day (for 7 weeks?) would be from a nutritional standpoint.

    All vegetables on the Acceptable Foods List do, as long as you don't have an intolerance to any of them.

    They are good for your health, too!

    Fast weight loss is not what will help you be successful on Atkins in the long term. Following the plan the way Dr. Atkins wrote it will.

      Thank you for your reply =) I know that she is looking for a quick weight loss for her vacation that is planned. I however am not just looking for a quick fix. I know that its a lifestyle change. I think the idea of seeing results quickly is just an extra motivator!!

        her quick fix may get her smaller by vacation but she will not be healthy to enjoy her vacation.

          I'm not a nutritionist, but even I know meat and cabbage alone isn't good nutrition. The Atkins diet, however, is very nutritious. I wonder if she were to see the list of acceptable foods and try it out?

              What makes you think eating a variety of food for 7 days won't heed the same amount of weight loss as the unhealthy way your friend was eating. It's a choice to eat healthy or to do a fad diet -- this is Atkins, not the cabbage diet. Hope you will continue with Atkins and stop listening to what others are doing.
