  • New Orleans, The Saints & a PO-BOY :(

Alright.. Today marked a full week on atkins. I am down 16 pounds.

I went out to watch the Saints at a local bar and had a PO-BOY sandwich. It was steak and cheese and about 8 inches of bread. No sauces or condiments. These sandwiches are impossible to get nutritional information from.

So how much trouble am i in? Do i/can i just start my 14 days over again?

8 inches of bread and bread is refined grains thats really bad

i bet if you look on your weight scale you will be up 5 pounds but it will be mostly water weight but it also will show you how hard it is on your body to process posion like that being up 5 pounds and all

but just keep that as a reminder not to go off plan again and just get right back on the wagon you don't need to restart induction

it will have knocked you out of ketosis and a fat burning metabolism but don't worry in a day or two your body should switch back into it

      Great job so far!

had a PO-BOY sandwich. It was steak and cheese and about 8 inches of bread. No sauces or condiments.
Ahem - could you have just eaten the innards and left the bread? That would have been a better choice.

Well, as long as you get right back on track now and do not take that poor choice as an excuse to eat off-plan you should be all right. Your CCLL might be high enough to allow for that bread

So if today is day 7 then tomorrow will be day 8.

With your excellent first week loss I imagine your total 2 week weightloss (even after that bread) will prove your resistance to weight loss is pretty low, so you can then move to OWL and start adding more veggies and begin the OWL experiment where you as the guinea pig AND the scientist work out how many carbs you can eat and still lose weight as well as discover if any foods affect your body adversely.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Oh my... well I would chalk it up to experience. Next time enjoy the steak and cheese and leave the bread. I wouldn't start over, no. Just keep on the way you were going. If it really throws you into a stall maybe try induction menus for a couple days then keep on keeping on. Drink lots of water. Exercise. Take your vitamins. Eat your veggies. You know the drill. LOL

Re: New Orleans, The Saints & a PO-BOY

I'm sorry but ITS WORTH IT! I messed up yesterday, but as a die hard Saints fan- Id do it all over again! Ive waited 35 years for that game! lol
Id jump back into induction foods for a few days if I were you. IME, having done atkins hard core for a few years- years ago- it doesn't knock you that hard to mess up if you get back full on.
(I actually lost 80 pounds by doing LC during the week and not really being careful on the weekends.)
If you are a first timer- its not a huge set back as you might think. But now I know- being a second timer on atkins- is way harder for me, and Ill pay big time for my superbowl splurge!

And I was worried about a buffalo chicken dip (that I didn't make/used a piece of brocolli) that had chicken, cream cheese, blue cheese dressing and hot wing sauce in it. LOL
