  • Chewing gum

    Hey guys,

Has anyone found a chewing gum out there with zero carbs?

    Thanks,
    Brittney

    Re: Chewing gum

As all gums have sweetener I don't think there are any out there with zero carbs...

I used to worry about the carbs in gum until one day (a few years ago actually) Elizellen said something and it really made sense.

She said "I have never seen anyone get fat by chewing gum".

And you know, she was right. LOL

I'm not sure if it really has an effect on weight loss or not, personally I am still mindful of the carb count.
I try and split one stick through out the day = 2 carbs.

      Re: Chewing gum

      Did I really say that?

Well, as long as you count the carbs in them as being part of your 'up to 3 daily sweeteners' and don't chew your way through packets a day
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

        Re: Chewing gum

Sweeteners are limited to 3 servings per day. If you choose to have gum, each piece counts as one serving.

If chewing gum is just a habit, you might want to break it.

If you are having trouble with "bad" breath (ketosis does not cause bad breath, by the way), then brushing your teeth more often, using mouthwash and dental floss, chewing some parsley or mint, eating all your veggies and drinking more water should help.

Also pay attention that you're not overeating protein.

          Yes you did!! LOL
Don't be about it, it was actually really great advise for me...

I *hope* we all know not to eat a pack a day. LOL (of course I easily could lol) - I started splitting my gum throughout the day when you said that so you must have mentioned that too....

For some, wasting your 3 carbs of sweetener might feel like a waste on gum - for me it's worth it. (well 2 carbs anyway)
