  • Arg! (rant a head!)

Hey everyone! I'm back with another update.

I am feeling much better but still not 100% there yet. The doctor suggest adding some more whole grains to my diet to get things moving and at that point I would have tried anything...I told myself it would be ok, just keep my calories under control.

Simple...not so much. I could eat 1500 calories but then I would feel the need to binge. I have never been a binge eater except when I try to cut calories. I kept my fat up as much as possible but ofcourse the carbs were over powering.

So here I am not even a week later and I dicided that it would be fun to jump on the scale and see if I am still ok. Well last time I posted I was bloated and stopped up but weighed in at 161.5lbs, today I was 164.8lbs. I feel disgusted. I worked so hard to lose the weight and now it is coming back. The worse part is I got rid of all of my old clothes, and now my pants are tight and uncomfortable.

I am ready to throw in the towel and jump back to induction and get this water weight off of me. I still have some ground linsseeds but I need some creative ways to incorperate them into my menu. The muffin is fine but after a few times I get sick of them and the bread has to many carbs for this stage.

I am starting right now, I did have fiber flakes for breakfast but I don't care, for lunch I think I will have some meat rolls, cream cheese and some broccoli.

Just for the record, low cal sucks donkey nuts!

Okay, I am done ranting How is everyone else doing? Besides the above mentioned I am doing really good. Well I am going to get back to my sim 2 object recoloring (a new way to release my build up tension) and take some kelp pills to help add digestion (they work surpisingly well...herbal remedies rock )

Are you using the 'sweet' muffins recipes? I usually use mine as a bread option and leave out the sweetener so I can slice them into small rounds and toast them to eat under a fried or poached egg, or cut into 'soldiers' to dip into a soft boiled egg.

I sometimes make the 'muffin in a minute' (without sweetener) in a larger dish to get more of a burger bun.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thanks, I tried that before and it was pretty good. I also looked up other ways to eat linsseeds and they suggested mixing them in to your food so I am trying that tonight with dinner.

I sometimes add flax to my shakes - or I use wheat bran which I actually like better.

It is just water weight - happens everytime I cross that line - I don't really worry too much because I know it will come off again. It is those fat pounds that I would worry about.

        Thanks for the update!!!!

          It is just water weight
I know it is just water weight but I haven't really lost weight since September either so I figure it really can't hurt to start over and go threw the rungs again, it was fun the first time, i'm sure it will be twice as fun the second time.

I sometimes add flax to my shakes
What kind of shakes do you make?

BTW I will look for Bran at the store Saturday...

I do pumpkin these days because I stock piled some in my freezer last fall. But I know that is not an ingredient easily obtainable where you are. Do you like shakes? (I love them and try out things - sometimes they work - other times not so good - my blender is used a lot - and my icecube tray) I suggest experimenting. spinach and avocado works well. Kale is another ingredient. You do need protein and fat in there. I either use raw eggs or I use protein powder and I add cream
Look at the eggnog shake thread and see if you get some ideas.

              Re: Arg! (rant a head!)

I've tried the eggnog shake but it made me sick since the eggs here are stored differently then in America...yeah that wasn't fun. I should still have protein power somewhere (if my friends haven't drank it all).

Pumpkin is hard to find here. But I guess I can look for other things. I have some spinach (frozen) stocked up, might try that. My fridge is kind of empty this time of week so not much to pick .

              Thanks for the ideas.

I found Hakkaido pumpkin yesterday. Maybe you want to look for that.

With flax, you could make pancakes.

You can find those here during fall and early winter, by now they are limited but some times still stocked.

                    Re: Arg! (rant a head!)

Apparently there is a pumpkin shortage as it's impossible to find in the stores... just an fyi. There is a whole thread about it somewhere... poor crop this year.

I have been making the muffin recipe and thinning it enough to make pancakes with it. Then I can either have it with butter and cream cheese. (yum) or with a fried egg on top. It's fabulous either way and a nice change of pace. Something about the microwave seems to make it kind of rubbery to me (in the muffin form) Also it's brilliant in a larger flat bowl to make a 'hamburger bun' with. I make it in the oven when I do that... better consistence imo.

                    Welcome back.

                      flax hotcakes are easy
                      dry mix is
1/4 cup ground flax linseeds for you
1/2 teaspoon baking powder any kind
                      cinnamon if you want
1/4 t salt if you want

mix it up well in a bowl

add to it the wet stuff

1 tablesppon of each of the following
sour cream, heavy whipping cream liquid oil (I used EEOV)
                      1 raw egg
                      1/4-1/2 cup water

add the 1/4th and stirr everything up
let sit 5 min so the flax reacts and check for thickness. if too thick add more water until it is pourable

                      preheat your skillet on medium
add the batter to make 4 cakes. cook 4 min on medium and flip cook 4 more min.

you can cover the pan and cook less time but don't rush it or you will have raw in the middle hotcakes.

I eat mine with pumpkin butter which is much like MUP
