  • I'm soooo tired!!!

    Seems like when I eat less carbs, I'm more tired. Right now, I am just soooo tired. I cannot cut out my coffee or I'll be EVEN MORE tired. How can I get any energy?? I do exercise but not the last two days because of cold weather.

    That happens to me if I don't get enough healthy fats in. Eat cheese or veggies ranch dressing or something like that.

      Fat is a good thought. Many people undereat.

      I suggest eat more carbs. Move to OWL and start eating more veggies.

      Make sure you take your vits and drink your water.

      Have you had a doctor's check up lately - just to make sure things are OK.

        Hi Mary

        You didn't tell us how long you are on the plan, just started Induction, etc....that could explain why you are tired. Or your menu, or the water you are drinking.

        You don't need nice weather to exercise. A lot of us are buried under snow and are freezing all winter and still exercise. Put a CD on, and lock yourself in a room alone, turn up the volume, and DANCE LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING YOU. YOU CAN DO THAT FOR 30 MINUTES, and you have an aerobic workout!
        Jump around, pretend you are a background dancer on the Grammys, or an exotic dancer, or a hip hop dancer, a belly dancer, just move and gyrate and get the whole body moving. Remember---NO ONE is WATCHING! Not even you, don't look in the Mirror!

          I do this all the time! After my dh leaves for work I pull the shades down ( don't want to scare the neighbors) and I dance and sing for a good part of the morning while I do my housework. Once my housework is done I jump on the wii fit for a little while. I do try to go to the gym 3-4 days a week but lately with all the snow I haven't really been able to get out.

            being tired according to Dr Atkins is a reason to eat more of your legal foods.

            are you taking your supplements Dr Atkins recommneds for the things you are missing with your food choices?

              Well, I guess it could be a combination of things. It's "that time of the month" and I always get tired plus I'm probably not getting the nutrition I probably could get plus I probably need a little more sleep. I am not doing the induction, I guess you could say I started added carbs and gained weight so I slowed the carbs down again. Doesn't seem like I can eat much carbs without gaining. I guess I have to admit, I need to add more healthy carbs. Although, I do have veggies cut up with sour cream dip, it's sooo good!! I do love being able to have fat in my diet!! It sure adds taste to some of the veggies! No more low-fat boring, tasteless food anymore!! Well, off to take my vitamins!!
