  • Analog or Digital Scale

Which do you think is better? I have a digital scale but now it is giving my DH and I funny readings. The weight is now all over the place, off by at least 4 pounds, sometimes 20. I might need to get a new scale because there is no way to calibrate this scale. It is the Weight Watchers Body Analysis Scale. I was just wondering what your opinions were on scales.

It's just really frustrating because now I don't know what my true weight is. Clothes are fitting better though so I know I have lost weight.

Since this is not an OWL-related question, I moved this thread out of the OWL forum.

My mother had that same scale and recently shipped it back. The phone rep with whom she spoke said there was a problem with that particular scale and many were coming back. They are sending her a new one that hopefully resolves the problem. You may want to call the manufacturer and see what they can do for you.

        Good luck.

I've always known the doctor's office and gym to use a physician beam scale. It's analog... and a little over $200 if you want to purchase one for the home.

I use a digital scale purchased on sale for $15 at Walgreens, works fine but I'm sure it's not 100% exact.

I have a Health-0-meter scale, had it a few years. Has 2 saved setting so 2 people can track their weight. Bought it at WM. So far no problems. I do change the batteries every year just in case. It's within a pound of my Dr. office scale.

I actually have that same Weight Watchers scale. It's pretty good - most of the time, but I find that the little feet on the bottom become loose quite a lot, and when they're not all on securely, then it gives false readings. One night I lost 30 lbs overnight! haha I wish
